Vale da Burra

Vale da Burra is a house with a privileged view to the village of São Roque and to São Jorge island. Amazing landscape, where the green of the hills, the blue of the sea, and the aroma and sound of the countryside, full of calm and peace, stands out. The space With the green of the hills and the blue of the sea as background, the house is secluded, located in the countryside, in an area of woods and pasture. From the balconies and patio, you can enjoy the fantastic views and when the sky is clear, the fabulous sunset or starry night sky. You can also enjoy the outdoor shower, ideal for cooling off on hot days and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with barbecue. Decorated in a rustic style, the house consists of a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, two full bathrooms, three bedrooms, an office and a living room with fireplace. Vale da Burra combines the proximity to the village center and to all of the most relevant touristic spots of the island, with the tranquility and peace of the countryside. If you are a fan of nature you can find a diversity of endemic vegetation and the only endemic mammal of the archipelago, the Azorean bat (Nyctalus azoreum). You can also have the privilege of observing other species such as the Buzzard (Buteo buteo), the Azores Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus azorica), the Grey wagtail (Motacilla cinerea patriciae), among others. On rainy days the house is sometimes surrounded by fog, which gives it a certain mysticism. Guest access Vale da Burra is a fully independent space with private entrance and free parking inside of the property (outdoors). Access to the entire house including an ample outdoor space, outdoor shower, outdoor kitchen with barbecue, forest and a area with fruit trees. IMPORTANT: Car rental is required to reach Vale da Burra given it’s secluded location. Other things to note - Check-out until 14:00h (02:00pm) and check-in after 16:00h (4pm), however depending on the case there is flexibility. - If you need a crib, highchair, baby bathtub, baby/ toodler dinnerware or other baby/toodler items, please request them in advance. - There are no dangerous wild animals around the house. Only harmless animals such as birds and rabbits. -As the house is set in the middle of nature, some little harmless animals can be seen around. - On the last weekend of July (from Thursday to Sunday) there is a festival in the center of the village, despite the center being about 4km away, depending on the wind you may hear the noise of the concerts at night in the house. - Vale da Burra is open to book only between the end of June till de middle of September.
