As you can see from a distance, the White City rises proudly at an altitude of 300 meters and like an oriental "kasbah" in the sunlight. However, if you stay in Marina di Ostuni for the time being, you will find a home that has a virtual connection to the Orient: the Porta D'Oriente Suite. Extensive renovation and remodeling work was necessary to create a small charming home with flair from the once inconspicuous shed of a seaside masseria. Oriental – Mediterranean – rustic – individual Although the apartment is designed in an oriental style, the Porta D'Oriente, the gateway to the Orient (and the geographical location of Apulia), is undoubtedly a very successful and interesting encounter of cultures. The individually designed garden gate is accompanied by two massive columns with white stone domes reminiscent of distant mosques, next to which a green cactus fig tree has found its place. The outdoor area or terrace of the holiday home is bordered by a dry stone wall in warm tones such as sand and terracotta, which is characteristic of both Apulia and Arab countries and gives the guest a certain sense of security. Particular attention is paid to the front of the domicile, in the middle of which the riveted, curved door in sea-green tone points to the entrance. An elongated bench made of white masonry, decorated with oriental cushions, invites you to listen to the sound of the sea with a nice glass of Apulian red wine. From here you have a side sea view (from the front of the building, just a few steps away, is the direct sea access with a sandy beach bay). On the lawn, the guest can expect a seating area made of wood, which is ideal for romantic dinners by candlelight. The warm lighting of the stone wall and the bench combined with a series of lanterns underline the cozy and individual ambience outdoors. The apartment Porta D'Oriente Suite, which the owners designed with a lot of love and passion, is suitable for two people. Noble materials such as travertine and other natural stones were used. The beautiful Pietra di Gerusalemme, for example, as a sand-colored, slightly yellowish shimmering stone floor. Many ideas and inspirations such as the brick-built, Moorish-looking double bed unmistakably make you feel the pronounced penchant for interior design. Above the bed wall is a decorative line with colorful majolica from Persia. Fascinating lighting effects are provided by the discreetly perforated wall and ceiling lighting, a traditional craft from Morocco. The brick-built kitchen buffet line is harmoniously integrated into the picture with a beautiful stone slab made of yellow travertine. If you would like to dine inside in between, there are also two colonial-style bar stools. The kitchenette is very well equipped. The hosts collected the individual decors, which originate from the oriental home culture, from travels: The oriental mirror with elaborately decorated pattern, a picture as well as some accessories came, for example, from London, the two antique prints, however, were discovered on an antique market in Tuscany. The Kelim pillows were also brought to the White City of Ostuni. Others were simply bought. Instead of a conventional wardrobe, an ivory canopy with an attractive orange fabric hanging comes into its own. (Custom-made floors in the niche serve as a shelf). In order to preserve the originality of the domicile, rustic-looking walls with a non-smooth surface were chosen. A white sliding door offers a smooth transition to the bathroom. Here, too, classic tiles were deliberately dispensed with. Only the shower (crystal door) was alternatively lined with travertine mosaic stones. On the brick basin table there is a countertop sink, also made of travertine. Noble fittings, a large mirror and natural stone floor refine the bathroom. Porta D'Oriente Suite convinces with a very personal atmosphere. The ground floor apartment Porta D'Oriente is slightly lower than the neighboring apartment with patio. Guest access Guests have access to the Porta D'Oriente Suite apartment, its outdoor area as shown in the pictures of the ad and the parking space reserved for this apartment within the private property. Upstairs on the 1st floor is the larger apartment Casa Mare Sole, which can also be booked. Other things to note Rentals are usually from Saturday to Saturday. Please contact us if you would like to change your travel date. Check-in: usually 2 pm - 7 pm. If the flight times are different, please let us know. A handover can also take place later in the evening. Check-Out: 7:00 am - 9:30 am. ADDITIONAL COSTS: The stated final cleaning price of €80 includes the final cleaning as well as the bed linen (1 set for the double bed) and the bath linen (2 towels per person).
