The Schoolyard units are semi-detached, meaning you’re within close proximity to your neighbours. The lawned area in front of the units is communal Holly's Hangout is the middle of the three units. (Neighbours on each side) With gorgeous rural views, fresh country air and a setting like this, you’ll wonder how the kids managed to concentrate during their school day. You also get a front row seat to watch the cows commute to the dairy at milking time. The space Holly's Hangout has two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. There is a living and dining area with fireplace and an open plan kitchen. The living area opens out onto a covered patio with mountain views. There is a shared lawned area surrounding the unit, while the kids play area, farm dam and swimming reservoir are within 500m of the unit. The cottage is fully equipped for self-catering with all linen and towels supplied. The unit is equipped with an indoor fireplace, outdoor braai/barbeque facilities and free Wi-Fi. There is easy access to the kids play area, and other farm activities, such as fishing, horse riding and biking and walking trails. The Schoolyard puts you within easy reach of the farm shop and within walking distance (500m) of the children’s play area, the farm dam and the swimming reservoir. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cottage. This unit has a locked inter-leading door between itself and the neighbouring unit (Anna's Apartment, also listed on AirBnB) with the option of booking both units if more rooms are required. Farm activities such as trails, canoeing, fishing, archery, horse riding and the farm shop are also on offer. Other things to note -The three schoolyard units share a full-length covered patio that has a dividing wall between each unit. You may hear neighbouring units chatting on the patio. See pictures for reference. -Recycling and reducing waste are part of our Oakhurst culture. We follow certain recycling and composting initiatives that guests are expected to follow when staying on our farm. Details are provided in your cottage. -Our water is piped and flows naturally for 5km along our property from the Outeniqua mountains. The water is clear but will turn slightly brown after the heavy rains due to the tannins from the forest bed. The water is only filtered by the river's plants, gravel and rocks. No pumps, no filters, no chemical treatment. -The hot water is supplied through a gas geyser. -The cottage is set on a working dairy and cattle farm. You may experience unfamiliar sounds like tractors, harvesters and other machines in the fields or surrounding areas. It is all part of the farm lifestyle.
