Designed for refined, private beachfront living. The space Ocean Suite by A&J is a privately owned, ocean-facing residence set within the lush tropical gardens of Bayshore Villas in East Bali. We purchased the suite in 2018 after falling in love with its elevated position, open-plan design, and uninterrupted sea views, and have since shaped it into a refined coastal home designed for privacy, comfort, and calm. Inspired by Mediterranean island living and the craftsmanship of Balinese architecture, the interiors blend natural materials, thoughtful detailing, and a relaxed sense of luxury. The suite occupies the second floor and is completely private, with panoramic ocean views from every room — including the bathrooms — and cooling sea breezes throughout the day. On 1 January 2026, Ocean Suite completed a full luxury renovation, including a brand-new custom kitchen, a newly designed double-shower bathroom, upgraded water systems to ensure excellent water pressure, new soft furnishings, and refined finishes throughout. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed and an en-suite shower with ocean views. The second bedroom/snug is highly flexible, fitted with two king-size single beds that can be configured as a super-king or used separately, making the suite ideal for couples or small families. The main bathroom is designed as a spa-like retreat, with double showers, stone-carved vanity units, and handcrafted brass fixtures. The suite also includes air-conditioning throughout, overhead fans, high-speed fibre-optic Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace, and a fully equipped kitchen. Ocean Suite is a peaceful, private beachfront hideaway — a place to slow down, enjoy sunset views from the balcony, and experience refined coastal living in East Bali. As featured in HELLO! India (November 2023), listed among Bali’s most exquisite stays. Guest access Guests have full access to Ocean Suite by A&J, including the private terrace, balcony, and all indoor living spaces. The suite offers uninterrupted ocean views, cooling sea breezes, and the soothing sound of the waves throughout the day. For added security, CCTV is installed at the front porch, covering the entrance only. You are also welcome to enjoy the shared facilities within Bayshore Villas, including the infinity pool, the larger pool near the restaurant, and the resort grounds. Fresh beach towels are provided. A spa offering massages and treatments is located on-site, and laundry services can be arranged through our manager. As part of a government-led beach regeneration project, the beachfront directly in front of the resort is currently closed, and access to the ocean from the property is not available. However, ocean views and sunsets from the suite remain stunning and uninterrupted, and the elevated position ensures privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. East Bali is home to several outstanding beaches within easy reach. Our favourite, Virgin (White Sand) Beach, is around 20 minutes by car and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in Bali. Boat trips and snorkelling excursions can also be arranged locally, and we are happy to assist with recommendations. Ocean Suite features high-speed fibre-optic Wi-Fi, air-conditioning throughout, and a comfortable terrace for relaxing in privacy. Guests can choose to enjoy the peaceful, private atmosphere of the suite, or head downstairs to socialise around the pools or restaurant. ⸻ Important note about the beach (please read) A government-led beach regeneration project is taking place along the entire Candidasa coastline. As of early 2026, the main heavy works have moved beyond our immediate frontage, though beach access remains restricted until the project is fully completed. Candidasa remains an ideal base for exploring East Bali and continues to serve as a gateway to nearby island destinations. Ferries to the Gili Islands and the Nusa Islands operate from Padang Bai, just 20 minutes away by car, and are unaffected by the beach project. The regeneration forms part of a long-term vision to position Candidasa as the “Sanur of East Bali”, including the creation of a 5.5 km beachfront promenade designed for walking, cycling, cafés, and community life. Over the coming decade, this transformation is expected to significantly elevate the area while preserving its relaxed, low-rise character. The surrounding region is already home to many of East Bali’s highlights, including Tirta Gangga Water Palace, Lempuyang Temple, and the beautiful rice terraces of Sidemen. Ocean views from the suite remain unaffected, and the resort continues to operate normally. We believe in being fully transparent so guests can make an informed decision. Many guests choose Ocean Suite for its privacy, views, and its position within a region undergoing thoughtful, long-term improvement — rather than for direct swimming from the front of the property. Pricing currently reflects limited beachfront access during the regeneration period. Other things to note Ocean Suite is located within Bayshore Villas, a boutique beachfront property. Airport pick-up and drop-off can be arranged in advance at a competitive rate (500 IDR each way) through us. We recommend this service, as some drivers are not familiar with the villa’s exact location. Our villa manager, Pariatna, will be on hand to assist with your check-in and to help with anything you may need during your stay, including local information, trip arrangements, and general villa support. If there is anything else we can do to make your stay more enjoyable, please feel free to message us at any time. Life in Bali is very much open-air living, and you may find yourself leaving doors or windows open to enjoy the sea breeze. As a result, you may occasionally see geckos — small, harmless lizards that eat insects and are considered good luck in many parts of Asia. From time to time, ants or other small insects may also appear, particularly if food is left out. If they bother you, our team is happy to provide insect spray. All air-conditioning units are new and powerful. We kindly ask that they are switched off when you are out or when doors are left open, as we are mindful of energy use and its environmental impact. At the end of your stay, our manager can assist with check-out, or you may simply leave the keys in the villa or the lockbox — no formal check-out is required.
