This unique nature-focused abode, has a relaxed feel, close to Byron town (only 13kms) but far enough away, for a change of pace & a breather in an abundance of beautiful nature. It includes a large deep bath, big enough for 2 (under cover) on a deck with a beautiful nature view & a relaxing semi-outdoor living area with the van used as the bedroom with A/C. Enjoy the solitude the hinterlands offers, with wide open fresh air without seeing anyone but the kangaroos, koalas & birds. The space The abode has an open-plan living/dining/kitchen area, a gorgeous industrial-style bathroom, with a glass ceiling for star gazing, an outdoor bath (under cover) & fire-pit. The vintage caravan exists as the bedroom with brand new A/C (please note bed sizes below). The open air living allows guests to feel 100% connected to the natural environment (so please don't book if that is not your thing), while at the same time having access to reliable, fast internet along with the comforts of a private hot shower, flush loo, bath, Air conditioning, fans & fully self contained kitchen etc. It is an ideal way to capture the restored feeling from remote camping, without the hassle of taking any camping gear. Sleeping arrangements with A/C & fans: We have a custom-made inner spring mattress that is an unusual size due to the age of the vintage caravan & therefore the size, is in between a King-single & double size width & a queen-size length (which may or may not be big enough for 2 people depending on your sleeping expectations). The actual measurements are: 1.13M wide & 2M long. There is also a separate king single-size bed, on the other end of the caravan, suitable for another adult, a child or two small children. Please only book if you are comfortable with these sleeping arrangements as refunds won't be provided if not & negative reviews are not welcomed! All bed linen and bath towels etc are provided. The caravan is very cosy, with Air conditioning, fans, a TV, stereo, fridge, sink, books, dvd's, wardrobe & storage space. The property is not far from the beautiful bathhouses of Mullumbimby too ie Kiva Spa & Banya bathhouse. We are a pet-friendly property. If you wish to bring your pet who is very welcome, we charge a small fee. Please select that you have a pet when making your booking. We also request that you kindly ensure that your pet does not go inside the caravan or on any of the furniture including the bed, lounge etc. Note re A/C (i.e, a portable A/C in the cupboard): Please read the instruction manual. The Coolzy-Pro Portable Air Conditioner cools people, by providing a constant stream of cool refrigerated air from the front of the unit and a small amount of warm air from the rear of the unit. In the van it is best to put the A/C near the door with the rear of the A/C venting the warm air out the screen door. Guest access Standard check in time is 2.00 pm on the day of arrival and checkout is by 10.00 am on the day of departure. Early arrivals and late check outs are at the discretion of the Host and must be requested at the time of booking. Other things to note We are dog friendly but please note that the 5 acre property is not dog proofed/fenced off and nor is the cabin as it is open plan. We have a strict pet policy - that is, we ask guests to ensure that they do not allow their pets in the van, or on, any of the furniture & not allow them in the shower or in the bath. If this policy is not adhered to, and therefore additional cleaning will ensue, we will have no choice but to pass the extra cleaning cost onto the guest. We ask guests to clean up after their dogs. It is highly recommended, not to leave any food out on the dining table or kitchen benches etc as our neighbours dogs wander in sometimes and also due to other wildlife such as birds etc. We highly recommend you put all food away in the fridges and/or cupboards. We will not be held liable for any food that goes missing or is eaten by neighbouring dogs or wildlife. We only accept dogs on our property that are friendly to humans, other dogs and wildlife & we ask owners not to leave their pets unattended on the property. Please also note that the cabin is obviously open plan so there more than likely be mosquitoes around. We provide mosquito coils & citronella candles for you but we recommend to bring repellant if you are prone to mosquito bites. There may also be other insects around which is all part of nature & not anything we can obviously control.
