After spending my childhood in Indonesia, I couldn't wait to bring some of the country's traditional elements to our nature retreat in this corner of paradise. Using only natural materials, solar panels, wood burner and traditional italian building techniques, we were able to beautifully combine Italian & Indonesian style into our little slice of heaven. Everything is carved with love. The eco-lodge is built on a seafront hill surrounded by 3 hectars of untouched nature and incredible panoramic views of the Mediterranean sea with the islands of Giglio and Giannutri right in front. From the ample garden filled with olive trees and wild rosemary scrubs, the sunrise and sunset can be admired like never before. NATURAL STONE ARCHITECTURE - The building itself is all made in natural stone and natural lime (no cement is used) designed inserting cross ventilation, water recycling, solar energy, and low light pollution . The main house (70 sqm) is where the living area with fireplace, sofas and dining table carved in mango wood; the main king-size bedroom is also here creating a loft feeling; connected to this area there is the separate second bedroom with a king size bed); the kitchen is outside in a separate pavilion. WOODBURNER- On cooler evenings you can light the wood fire burner, cuddle up and heat up the bed room while still enjoying the outdoor experience. MAIN BUILDING & MASTER BEDROOM- The main building 70 sqm is an open space with wooden beam floors, two large floor to ceiling 3 meters glass openable windows that create and inside outside experience. In the summer when you want to open the windows they are completely retractable. In the chilly night you can close the sliding windows and turn the beautiful wood burner on and cuddle up. The interior of this main area is very large and spacious with its romantic wooden four poster master bed, linen curtains. There is also tow large wooden sofas and a solid wood table. All furniture is antique from Indonesia. Huge floor to ceeling glass sliding doors give the house a contemporary touch and enhance the view that is already to die for! SECOND GUEST ROOM- Separated from this main area is the cozy guest bedroom with a king size bed and cotton romantic curtains. From the bed you enjoy an incredible view of the sea. You can open the huge floor to ceiling windows completely and enjoy the sea breeze. INDOOR BATHROOM - Connecting these two rooms is the indoor bathroom with a toilet and step in shower. Hot water is connected to the solar water system and in winter in order to have more hot water you need to turn the wood burner on. OUTDOOR LIFE - The outdoor living areas are built on large wooden decks with comfortable bean bag sofas , hammocks, suspended tree-nets that create the perfect atmosphere for guests to indulge in some carefree holidays. Nothing is as relaxing as sleeping under the moonlight listening to the sound of the waves! A SHOWER WITH A VIEW- The bathroom is only outdoor and has a beautiful hot solar shower; it's a true haven for those seeking a back-to-nature experience. SOLAR KITCHEN- The kitchen also runs on solar energy with a large fridge and freezer and gas stoves. You will find all you need from plates, pans and lovely cutlery and some basic necessities as olive oil, salt, sugar and tea. LE CANNELLE BEACH CLUB - Our guest can access the private Le Cannelle Beach club that is reserved to members only. CROSS VENTILATION WINDOWS WITH A VIEW - Designed to be in sink with nature; during spring and summer, the large glass windows can be totally opened, this creates a magical indoor/outdoor natural atmosfere and natural freshness. The wide windows are equipped with an eco-friendly bamboo shutters that lets in the fresh morning air. During autumn and winter chilly nights you can enjoy the stunning view by closing the large glass windows and cuddle in front of the wood burner. NO NEIGHBOUR - Silence and intimacy are a highlight. Away from other houses, light and sound pollution, the starts light up the horizon during the night. You will have views of the milky way that only the Sahara desert can compete with! When the moon comes up you will follow its silver glaze on the sea. SOLAR PANELS- The lodge runs only on NEWLY INSTALLED solar energy and offers an amazing Bose sound system (USB connection only). Here, energy is more than enough to charge your mobile or computers, but we do not have a TV nor other electronic devices. To dry your hair just relax in the sun for a few minutes… Wifi is good although if you wish to be off the grid simply turn it off and enjoying painting instead! If you are looking for a truly unique, romantic and out of the ordinary experience in Tuscany, look no further - you have just found your perfect glamping experience! The house is equipped with board games (backgamon and cards) and a beautiful telescope to explore the milky way. Guest access La Casetta sul Mare Tuscany is at a short 15 minute walk from the private beach of Le Cannelle. Driving to the beach is also possible; you will have the remote control to open the private access to the beach club. Other things to note We have solar panel panels energy only. The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge and all necessary cookware and cutlery. There is no oven but stoves. Grocery shops are all is in the village of Santo Stefano which is a 20 minute drive along the coast.
