A modern and romantic 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in trendy Kalk Bay. Ideally positioned on the mountainside overlooking the magnificent bay below. A short walk to countless restaurants, coffee shops, retailers and the popular Kalk Bay tidal pools and scenic seaside walks. The apartment features a patio with gas BBQ and beautiful mountain views. We are located 50 steps from the main road, so if you can't do stairs, this isn't for you. Otherwise, the view is well worth the effort! The space Up on the mountainside overlooking Clovelly beach, this property is very quiet and peaceful. Because of where the property is situated, you will have the morning, afternoon and evening sunlight. This is a very light and airy space. This stunning 1 bedroom apartment boasts a large open plan entertainment area and kitchen. Breath taking sea views from the window in the bedroom and panoramic sea views from the kitchen and lounge above. The bedroom/ bathroom and kitchen/entertainment areas are separate. You walk out, and up a few stairs from the bedroom to the entertainment area. There is a large deck with seating area and the view is just beautiful from there! Garage: There is an electric garage with space for 1 car to park securely with access to the house through a security gate. The garage will fit smaller cars, not a family bus or a bakkie. These cars are simply too long. Parking can be a bit tough, as Kalk Bay main road can be very busy in the summer months and there are a lot of cars. Please be understanding that there is train and car noise, this is just a price you will pay to stay in Kalk Bay. Laundry: The shared laundry room is on the landing between the two properties. Note: This is a shared property- from the garage/ entrance gate, you will pass the main house with steps leading to your apartment. Otherwise, your space is completely private. PLEASE NOTE: The main house on the property "The Beach House" is available for rent with this property for an additional nightly fee. The house sleeps 8 comfortably, great for big groups as the house is open plan with a big dinning table to seat 10. Please send me a message to find out more. Guest access You will have access to the whole apartment. This will be your private space- including the lookout/ BBQ deck. The main house on the property has there own private outside area. You will not have access to the main house on the property- only access the shared laundry room on the landing between the two properties. Please be sure to let us know your arrival time, we will either provide self check in details or someone will meet you at the property. Check ins after 5pm need to be communicated well in advance. Other things to note Please read before booking. Stairs: There are roughly 50 stairs to reach the apt, if you can't do stairs then this space isn't for you. Noise: The apt is located near the Kalk Bay main road. You will hear distant road noise. If you are a light sleeper ear plugs can be beneficial or maybe this space isn’t for you. Unfortunately, this is a part of the overall vibe that makes up the Kalk Bay buzz. You will benefit from the close proximity to all local eateries, tidal pools, and the many boutique and antique stores that line the streets of Kalk Bay which is a 7-minute walk away. Plus the benefit of a secure parking garage. Loadshedding: Unfortunately, South Africa is dealing with rolling blackouts on a scheduled basis. This means that power outages are scheduled for up to 4 hours at a time, depending on the schedule. We do not have a backup generator in the building to mitigate this. We do offer a UPS that will keep the Wi-Fi running during loadshedding. We do also provide electric lanterns and guests are still able to cook as there is a gas BBQ. Load shedding is an unfortunate reality for the country that affects 80% of the population. Shared space: The property accommodates 2 units, the main house and this apartment. The only shared space is the laundry room, and the entrance and stairs. Otherwise, your space is entirely private.
