The Gatehouse at Mount Ophir Estate

Our secluded Gatehouse is ideal for families or a group of friends looking for an easy high-country getaway. Designed for entertaining in mind, this self-contained house comfortably sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with space for two additional guests on a double fold-out couch. Set in the heart of the Rutherglen wine region, The Gatehouse is just five minutes from town, close to cycling trails and some of the region's best wineries. The space A light, continental-style breakfast will be provided for guests to enjoy including a freshly baked white sourdough loaf from Valentines Bakery, milk, tea, coffee and sugar. Upon arrival, you'll also receive a bottle of All Saints Estate wine. Mount Ophir Estate was established in 1891 as a winery and farm. It is currently operating as an exclusive site for unique, luxury accommodation, private events, including Rutherglen weddings and corporate getaways. Guest access As a guest of the estate you are able to access the whole property for long walks, reading, and fishing. We ask kindly that you do not feed or try to pat the animals on the estate. Please park neatly in front of the house as there is passing traffic on our road. Other things to note We are an organic working farm so we ask politely for you to leave minimal waste. There is security on all gates and we ask that you please keep all external gates closed and locked. In regards to breakfast, bread, milk, butter, spreads, tea, coffee (Nespresso pods) sugar and Carmen’s Muesli are all provided. Olive oil, salt and pepper is also included for guests use. The fire place may be used between the months of May - October. Fire wood and kindling will be supplied between the months of May - September. Please be considerate when using the wood and only use the kindling to start the fire and the larger logs to keep the fire going.
