Cotswold Glamping - Shepherds Hut in a Wild Meadow

Luxury glamping in a most unspoilt corner of Gloucestershire! A romantic retreat for two, experience total peace sleeping under the stars, amidst the wild flowers, hares, deer and butterflies, immersed in nature! Our Shepherd’s hut, stands in its own private organic meadow with luxury glamping facilities, including an ensuite hot shower, and beautiful sunsets. The space Inspired by our original shepherd’s hut, (which sleeps two, is situated quite nearby, and can be booked at the same time), the wild meadow hut was crafted to our own specification, to deliver a luxury glamping experience and yet retaining the authenticity of the original. The furnishings are unique and have been designed and hand printed by textile designer Liz Lippiatt, in her studio in Stroud. There are books about the countryside and poetry to enjoy in the peaceful surroundings. The hut is quite self-contained with its own shower room and mini kitchen and a private outdoor eco loo. It is well insulated, cosy, and warm, and has a wood burner for cool evenings. The hut has its own kettle and cafetière, and mini butler sink, with teas, coffee, milk & biscuits is provided. If you would like a breakfast hamper with fruit and warmed croissants, please order ahead with an extra cost of £5 per head. All bedlinen is provided for the comfortable double bed as well as towels and toiletries. There is a bush kitchen, shared with one other hut, under the trees, with a fridge and a gas barbecue provided for your use as well an optional charcoal barbecue (bring your own supply of charcoal for this option). There is a beautiful fire pit ready set for your first night, outside the hut, ideal for toasted marshmallows! Comfortable chairs with thick sheepskins are provided, with a table for sundowners and supper. Guest access The wild meadow hut is surrounded by organic farmland nestling between the Princess Royal’s Gatcombe Estate and the Duchy Home Farm with its herd of organic Ayrshire cows with a self-serve milk vending machine nearby. Guests are free to enjoy our garden and paddock and can park in the field close to the hut. There is a good 4G signal for wireless hotspot, but it might be a good thing to ignore if you want some isolation! A baby shepherd’s hut, close by, has some useful local maps and guidebooks. Other things to note We provide kindling and logs for the fire pit for your first night - there is plenty of kindling lying around to forage in hedges and by ways and you can buy extra logs on site (£5 per bag) or from the local garage or Tesco store in Tetbury or maybe bring some extra logs with you from home. There is a gas burner with a griddle pan for your steaks or veggies as well as a charcoal barbecue ( you can purchase a bag of charcoal on site or from the local Tesco store). Otherwise why not bake some potatoes wrapped in foil in your fire pit and barbecue sausages on a fork over the fire! Fun to be had!!
