Description

Pen-y-Bryn is a traditional, stone-built Welsh farm house in Snowdonia National Park, sleeping up to nine people. With stunning sea and mountain views and being surrounded by its own fields and woodland, it's a haven of peace. Ideal for groups of friends and families with children, who can play in perfect safety. It's been our much loved holiday home for over fifty years and although the essential facilities are modern, the furnishings favour practicality and comfort over uniform style! The space The large kitchen/diner is light and airy with a table that can seat 12 people, with ample crockery and cutlery for a large group. The extras - microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher are all modern, as is the hob and oven and there is ample kitchen ware for cooking any meals. The sitting room has comfortable sofas, a flat screen TV, DVD player, WiFi/Broadband hub and a wood-burning stove for the colder months. The house also has numerous night storage heaters. The bathroom and separate shower room are upstairs and there's also a downstairs cloakroom. There is a conservatory entrance outside the back door with loads of hooks for coats and places for muddy boots, is a real bonus on rainy days. The two front bedrooms are large while the two back bedrooms are slightly smaller but perfectly adequate for two people. All bed are equipped with duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels. Please note our property is over 120 years old and stone walled so does not have cavity insulation but the walls are over 1 meter thick at each end and built to last. It has character in keeping with a Welsh farm house, and although well equipped is admittedly more 'rustic' than luxurious. The property is surrounded by fields - often containing livestock - and woodland, and more accustomed to walking boots than heels! Please bear this in mind when booking to avoid disappointment. Guest access Guests have access to the main house and play barn, but the barn workshop, barn loft, the far barn by the courtyard and cottage are not accessible. Please be aware the drive is quite steep in places and some of it is unpaved. In cold & wet weather leaves / foliage can make it slippery for vehicles in places, and a couple of corners are tight for larger vehicles. Recent rain has left the mid section of the driveway degraded - please drive carefully over this section. We have security camera’s overlooking the property to monitor activity when the property is vacant. These will be disabled between guest arrival and departure times. There is a domestic EV charger (upto 7.2Kw) at the property that is available by request. It is untethered so you will need to bring your own Type-2 cable. Fair use requested. Other things to note During high season, mid July to end of August only week long bookings will be accepted with change over day being Saturday. We require at least 3 days notice for ‘last minute’ booking to ensure the property is ready for our guests. The property has an EV charger - uptown 7.2Kw, untethered - so bring your type-2 cable. This is available on demand. Fair use policy applies.
