The best thing is, getting here is a doddle, just 6 miles from the M6 and only 1½ miles from the A66 means you can start your holiday sooner. Situated adjacent to the entrance of a working dairy and beef farm, this delightful, semi-detached bungalow, next to the owner’s home, offers plenty of space to comfortably sleep up to four adults. The bathroom is an easy access wet room, and because it’s on one level, Middlecroft is an excellent choice for families with younger children or guests who are less mobile. The east-facing rear garden makes an ideal spot for soaking up the morning sun before heading out to explore the local area, and with so much to do you will be spoilt for choice. Whether you like walking, climbing, cycling, shopping, golf or just checking out the local food and drink, there’s plenty going on at this holiday hideaway. To start your adventure, check out Pooley Bridge, 3½ miles, with its great selection of pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms. It can also be accessed very easily from the property via a more direct cross country walking route. Pooley Bridge is at the northern tip of Ullswater, and with daily steamers travelling to Aira Force, Howtown and Glenridding, you can navigate this great lake in no time at all, and you could even leave the car behind and explore on foot. The town of Penrith, 6¾ miles, is great for shopping and has a good selection of restaurants and pubs to try. If you’re looking for family fun, then why not check out the Rheged Centre, 5¼ miles, with children’s activities, an outdoor play area and cinema. If you like a bit of heritage and culture, then a visit to Lowther Castle and gardens is a must and is only 8¼ miles away. For a pleasant couple of hours walk, Aira Force, 5½ miles, offers a relatively easy climb to the top of a stunning waterfall not to be missed.
