Carlton 1860's Terrace House

Our lovely family home was built in 1863 and fully renovated in 2014. We extended the main living room from kitchen and attic conversion in 2021/22. There are two living areas to capture morning or afternoon sun and a TV snug. There is also a lovely green backyard deck and bbq. The space This is a traditional Melbourne terrace built in 1863 with all the original features retained and fabulous new architect designed bathrooms, kitchen and new living areas. The entire house was renovated (re-painted, wired and re-plumbed) in February 2014. The front facade was repainted in June 2016 - beige! The extension to kitchen and attic conversion were completed mid 2021. The main living area looks directly onto backyard with high ceilings, skylights and new fire place. The kitchen is light-filled and looks directly onto the courtyard. There is a TV snug in the centre of the house. The upstairs green room (or games/rumpus room with recently purchase arcade machine) has fantastic street facing window seats looking through trees to University colleges. . . You can hear the University chapel bells chiming! We have our home set-up with 4 formal bedrooms with 4 beds. A double bed downstair, a queen a double bed upstair, ssingles in the attic and doubleon the ground. The beds are made with sheets and blankets. Towels are provided. We also have a port-a-cot, junior mattress, two singles in the attic or an additional double bed which we set up in tv room if requested (8 or more paid guests). This is our home and we live here so there will be some space for you in the robes and bathroom but it isn't a hotel. Our family is changing and aging, sometimes we have moved or updated the rooms to suit us. We try to keep photos up to date. It is also a 150 year old house, we always have professional cleaners in before you arrive. Please let us know if we need to remind them about specific areas to focus on. Also, our dog is three years old and sometimes lives in the house with us but won't be at home when you are. Guest access Guest have access to our entire 2 -3 storey renovated home and backyard. There are two/three separate living areas so that you can catch the morning or afternoon sun. We have Netflix etc, YouTube, on-demand, DVD player, tv and wifi (NBN). The kitchen includes dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer which are integrated (they look like part of cupboard until you open the door!). There is also an electric oven, gas cooktop, microwave (above fridge - in cupboard), kettle, toaster, toasted sandwich maker/grill, juicer and coffee machine/grinder. There are two toilets (one upstairs and another downstairs), a laundry, two showers and separate bath/shower. All three bathrooms are small but perfectly formed. There is a small street facing front verandah and a large tranquil garden deck with BBQ. The backyard is child friendly. Other things to note The beds will be made when you arrive with sheets / blankets and towels provided by us.
