Description
A beautiful, peaceful, Jersey granite farmhouse with mature gardens. The house is close to St Brelade's Bay and St Aubin. This light and airy house has two double bedrooms and two king bedrooms and there are two spacious bathrooms upstairs (one ensuite) with a further shower room downstairs. There are two reception rooms: a sitting room and a dining room with large dining table. The cosy, farmhouse kitchen includes a kitchen table, an Aga and a dishwasher. There is ample parking. The space Please note that in order to comply with Jersey Housing and Tourism laws, we cannot offer the house to groups that include more than 5 adults. (Children under 16 are not included.) There are two king-sized bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite bathroom, and two double rooms. The rooms are large, airy and light. A large utility room allows wet and sandy costumes and wetsuits to be shed and rinsed easily and conveniently. The farmhouse kitchen has everything you might need including an Aga, microwave, nutribullet, juicer, coffee machine, washing machine and tumble dryer. Sitting on the edge of pasture land, the beautiful gardens are full of birdsong and colourful plants. There are outside seating and dining areas, and great views over the valley below the house. The house itself is a haven of calm and tranquility and is well located for some of the best beaches in Jersey. St Brelade's Bay is 10 minutes' walk away and the picturesque harbour town of St Aubin just 15. Guest access There is a small entirely separate cottage attached to the end of the house (let separately) which shares the private car park but otherwise guests have the entire house and two gardens, front and back, to themselves. Other things to note Summer is the high season in Jersey. Please make your arrangements as soon as possible! Restaurants are very busy and need advance booking. Here are a few recommendations: NB We recommend that you always explain that you are visitors to the Island and ask for a window table. At Corbiere: Corbiere Phare is a must even for just a drink outside overlooking the gorgeous lighthouse. Time your dinner to coincide with sunset and there are few better views in Jersey. In St Brelade: The Crab Shack is a hit with everyone we recommend it to. It has a Gorey sister to its original St Brelade restaurant too. Both are fab, offering casual family dining and specialising in seafood. If you would rather a more refined experience with crystal glasses, linen napkins and no children, try the Oyster Box next door. St Aubin Just at the bottom of the hill in St Aubin you have Enoteca, a lovely new little Italian, with a very simple but authentic menu (order your pasta when you book because they make it fresh to order every day). Further along the bulwarks at St Aubin are two more favorites; another lovely Italian - Sorrento and The Salty Dog (peanut butter cheesecake mmmm!). The Anchor Club (upstairs at The Boat House in St Aubin) is v good too, esp for Sunday lunch. Just outside St Aubin a short stroll along the beach is Nude On The Beach. The food is gorgeous (great veggie options, natural juices etc) and you eat with your feet in the sand. It’s fab, but gets v booked. Portelet Once you've made your way all the way down the steps to Jersey's most beautiful beach at Portelet, you'll find a great little wood-fired pizza restaurant at the bottom where you can gain the calories you'll need for the steps back up. Then there's a pub at the top where you can slake your thirst (and the food's ok here too). Gorey On your way to Gorey, The Bass & Lobster is a great local restaurant, with consistant rave reviews for its seafood, including hand-dived local scallops, lobster and crab. At Gorey itself, the Crab Shack is a winner (see above) and Feast along the foot of the castle, offers an Asian inspired menu. A really special experience is to eat a Thai meal right at the very end of Gorey pier, overlooking the harbour and giving you a great view back at Gorey Castle. It's a BYO restaurant and you can't book, but just turn up and queue. NB it may get chilly after sunset. St Helier Bohemia - Without doubt the best restaurant in Jersey. If you are a gourmet, we really recommend you try to fit in a meal at this Michelin Starred restaurant during your stay. If your budget can stretch to it, the full tasting menu during the evening service is just amazing, but the set lunch is great value and there's a pretty terrace to have a drink on. Liberation Square and Liberation Wharf have the largest collection of restaurants in St Helier with all kinds of menus on offer. Quayside and Vittorias at Liberation Wharf in St Helier have good reputations although the former can be a little pricey.
