Description
The Cheese Room at Upper Clavelshay Farm is a self-contained guest suite. It occupies the entire section of what used to be the farmhouse dairy. Built in 1906 by Lord Portman for his estate Manager, Upper Clavelshay Farm is a secluded rural retreat surrounded by 4 acres of coniferous woodland, perfect for couples or single explorers to experience a peaceful getaway. We can't wait to share our private spot at the foot of the Quantocks. The space You have exclusive use of the self contained suite which comprises a large entrance hall, staircase to The Cheese Room which has a king size bed, lounge and dining area. There is a separate dressing room and bathroom with large walk in shower. The house has a drive in/out driveway. On arrival drive up the right side as this will lead you to your own front door and parking space. Entrance hall The large welcoming entrance hall has plenty of space to hang coats and hats and put your shoes and boots. This is the dairy, with original tiled floor. Staircase Up the 14 moderately steep stairs and check out the old pictures of the house and grounds on your way. The Cheese Room This main room is dominated by a splendid timber king truss, and complemented by period furniture. You have a King size bed, lounge area with smart TV for Amazon Prime and Netflix (you will need your own login), USB plug to charge your devices, dining area and buffet sideboard with mini silent fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Dressing room (the maids old room) Plenty of space to store your bags and cases, a large wardrobe with drawers, containing hair dryer and iron and seating. En suite shower room The shower room with large walk in shower has underfloor heating, shaver socket, wash hand basin and loo. Other things to note While we are happy for you to explore the grounds, for your safety please do not venture into the wooded areas as there are no designated pathways (yet) and the ground is very uneven. Please respect shut gates and ensure you close gates on designated public footpaths as we live within an active farming community.
