Monte da Cunca consists of buildings with eight studios of different sizes, the name of this accommodation is ESTRELA, measuring 25 m2. The studio is designed to be functional, simple, and clean, but with special attention to detail, is an open space, downstairs you will find a fully equipped kitchen, and the bathroom with tub, on the top floor 1 double bed 140 by 200. Outside you have your private space with chairs and table, as well there is a common area to share with the other guests . The space T​HE BUILDING: The accommodations were initially built in raw earth ​,the earliest records for which date back to 1876 and later restored and enhanced with clay plaster and lime paint to improve their natural qualities​, these methodologies, known for their sustainability and ability to create healthy environments, have been integrated into the restoration process to preserve the authenticity and character of the buildings. The buildings were originally farm houses and animal shelters​. In 2005 we began the major restoration project and people came to help from all over the world to generously offer their different skills and ideas. Many of them were artists who contributed their creativity and artwork and even though there was much hard work, there was a beautiful energy as people came together and enjoyed music, nature, life on the beach and rich cultural exchange. R​ENEWABLE SOURCE: ​We are environmentally-friendly, so we don't use pesticides, and guests are encouraged to be mindful of water, electricity, and gas consumption​. We use photovoltaic solar panels to generate electricity, solar thermal panels to produce hot water and heating, and a biogas plant currently under development for waste management and gas production. This integrated strategy leverages multiple renewable sources to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, manage organic waste, and generate electricity, heat, and biofertilizers for our farm. LOCATION: The accommodations are located on the national road EN268​. We kindly ask you to read the details on ​A​IRBNB, check the map, the size of the studio to ensure it meets your needs. ​​The distance : 1,2 km from Carrapateira, 1,8 km to Bordeira Beach and 3,5 km to Amado Beach. There are a plethora of incredible activities on offer in and around our accommodations ​. We promote activities run by 3rd parties and would be delighted to assist you Guest access Outside the studio you have your own table and chairs, there is a covered area dedicated to all the guests, where you can find BBQ, a wood oven, a kitchen , the alkaline water filter, cushions and tables where you can relax, there is free parking near the guest house. A few steps lagoon with free of charge kayaks and boats to go in the close Bordeira beach ( ask us for the map) Wi-Fi available. TIPS: We suggest renting a car to move around. The village of Carrapateira​ ( 1 Km distance) ​has a small supermarket, bars, surf shops and restaurants. The local market has fish and fresh vegetables each morning. Other nearby villages with bars, pharmacies, cash machines, gas stations, restaurants and shops are Aljezur which is 16 km to the north or Villa Do Bispo 14 km to the south. The stunning village of Sagres and city of Lagos are approximately 30 kms away. ​ Other things to note Dear Guest's When you make the reservation we will ask you for your email, only after your reply we will send you the email confirmation with the info how to get here etc... For what we need your email address: On the date of your arrival the SEF (Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service) they will send you an email and they will ask you to register your arrival ( date of birth, nationality, Passport or ID number) So you can do yourself without having to share your personal data with me NOTE: in case you will not send the email address we will ask AIRBNB to cancel the reservation (The reason is that I don't want to get a high fine because I didn't register the guest, hope you understand) The declaration of entry into Portugal is compulsory for all foreign nationals, failure to comply with the provisions of Article 14 is an administrative offence punishable with a fine from €60 to €160 I'm sorry for this bureaucracy but we are obliged to ask you to do the registration, thanks for your understanding HOT WATER Hot water takes time to get inside the accommodation, around 1 minute. We run the hot water for all 8 studios with sun and when needed with gas, please let me know if you don't have hot water so we can change to gas We kindly ask you to take the garbage to the appropriate waste and recycling bins which can be found in the neighbourhood on the road to Praia da Bordeira in front of Cabrita Restaurant Cleanup​ ​​Before booking, please read carefully to avoid unpleasant surprises on both sides: We invite you to carefully read the AIRBNB listing details, consult the map, and check the studio's dimensions to ensure it meets your needs. HOT WATER Hot water takes about 1 minute to reach the accommodation. Hot water is provided to all 8 studios using solar energy and, if necessary, gas. Please let us know if you don't have hot water so we can switch to gas. WASTE: Upon checkout, please take your waste to the designated recycling bins located in the neighborhood on the road to Praia da Bordeira, in front of *Cabrita Restaurant. BIOGAS AND TOILETS *PLEASE DO NOT THROW ANYTHING IN THE TOILET. THIS INCLUDES TOILET PAPER, ETC. We use human waste to generate gas, so if the system is blocked by toilet paper, we won't have gas as a result... SMOKING Smoking is prohibited inside the studio, due to extraordinary cleaning we reserve the right to request compensation. TOWELS Please do not use the provided towels for the beach. ORGANIC SOAP Please use the organic dish soap we provide in the sink. The soap is also organic and homemade. DRINKING WATER The water comes from our well and is checked periodically, so you can drink it without worries and avoid buying plastic. We also have filtered alkaline water outside the apartment, in the common area, available to everyone! ANTS: To manage the seasonal ant problem, you can find an organic insecticide under the sink, but the most effective strategy is to prevent ants from entering by keeping food containers tightly closed to eliminate the odors that attract them. Please also let us know of any defects or problems that may arise during your stay; we will do our best to resolve them as quickly as possible. SEF (Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service) When booking, we will ask for your email address.
