Description

The barn is in a unique, quiet setting, in a walled garden, with views of our woodland and meadow and access to our 55 acres of private land. The space The main sitting area of this rustic barn is centred around a large log burning stove to keep you warm and snug. ( A FREE supply of logs is provided. ) Air hockey and snooker tables are fun for all. A well equipped kitchen has a range cooker, microwave, small fridge and toaster. A modern tiled bathroom has bath and separate in-built shower. A cast iron spiral staircase leads upstairs to the hay loft which has two rooms. The main bedroom which has a double bed is accessed through the room at the top of the stairs, which has a top quality German sofa bed. This layout of inter-connecting rooms is therefore best suited for families or friends. French doors open out into the pretty and secluded walled garden, with seating areas for you to enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal, al fresco. It is a peaceful and private sanctuary, which is a paradise for nature lovers and walkers. Our woodland is a beautiful place to wander at any time of the year. We start with the early masses of snowdrops in January and February, followed by the vivid blue of bluebells in April and May, then the summer flowers in the wild flower meadow are followed by the autumn colours of the trees. Whilst we are in the country, it is only a short drive to the tourist attractions of Shropshire and Staffordshire, including Weston Park, Ironbridge, Cosford Aerospace Museum, The Wrekin, the south Shropshire hills, Cannock Chase and the beautiful county town of Shrewsbury. 5 minutes drive to Lilleshall Sports Centre 10 minutes drive to Weston Park 10minutes drive to the Telford International Centre 10 minutes drive toTelford Innovation Campus (University of Wolverhampton) 12 minutes drive to David Austin Roses 13 minutes to RAF Cosford and the Aerospace Museump 15 minutes to the Ironbridge and museums 17 minutes to Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom 18 minutes to Harper Adams Agricultural College 20 minutes to i54 Technology Park 22 minutes to Severn Valley Railway, Bridgnorth Please note that we feel that the barn which has a spiral staircase and areas of restricted access may not be suitable for very small children or people with limited mobility. ****************************************************************************************************************************** N.B. IF ONLY TWO QUESTS ARE COMING AND REQUIRE THE USE OF THE SECOND BED THEN PLEASE INFORM US OF YOUR REQUIREMENTS AND WE WILL MAKE IT UP FOR YOU. IN ORDER TO COVER THE COST OF THE EXTRA LINEN LAUNDRY AND IRONING WE ASK YOU TO PAY £25.00 CASH ON ARRIVAL. ****************************************************************************************************************************** ****************************************************************************************************************************** Guest access The barn is part of our house, but you will have sole access to this part during your stay, together with sole use of the kitchen, which has an electric range cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle. A welcome pack of tea, coffee, and a choice of breakfast cereals will be provided. You can also use the garden and can have free access to the private woodland trails and wild flower meadow which form part of our country property. Other things to note We manage our small holding with conservation in mind to encourage all types of wildlife and birds. I am involved in a project providing supplementary winter feeding for farmland birds. The meadow in the summer is alive with butterflies and other insects. The woodland has breathtaking displays of snowdrops and bluebells and there is a pool. There are several interesting features dating from when the land used to form part of the old Botfield estate in Georgian times, including a stone temple. The Botfield family were Ironmasters from Ironbridge, but in common with other Ironmasters from that time, built their country estate away from their foundries in Ironbridge. PLEASE BRING INDOORS SHOES OR SLIPPERS.
