Sleeping five, the quiet bedrooms overlook the sea or village rooftops. Located centrally, the local pub, shops, and coffee spots are moments away, with the famed Hidden Hut a short walk over the cliffs. Combining heritage charm and modern comfort, the cottage is ideal for a family beach holiday. The space Nestled among a row of colourful houses in the centre of the village, 2 Sunnyside is a beautifully renovated former fisherman’s cottage set on a private road just 100 yards from Portscatho beach on Cornwall’s scenic Roseland Peninsula. Cheerfully decorated with bright yellow accents, this charming home offers a warm, relaxed coastal retreat ideal for families and groups. The original features of open-plan living space are given a modern spirit through a carefully curated mix of Mexican and South African antiques and contemporary pieces upholstered in textiles from Svenskt Tenn and Liberty London. Throughout the house are original artworks collected over years of travel. A wood-burning stove invites cozy evenings after coastal walks and wild swims. The minimalist kitchen, accented by cheerful hand-painted yellow zellige tiles, is equipped with Le Creuset cookware and porcelain sourced in Portugal. It opens smoothly onto a sun-filled paved rear courtyard, where a spacious dining table is perfect for enjoying meals on summer evenings or as a bright spot for kids to paint. Upstairs, two spacious bedrooms offer serene views of the sea or village rooftops. The master boasts a king-size bed with a comfortable Conran shop mattress, while the second bedroom can be arranged as twin beds or a super-king. The versatile third bedroom has a daybed which works well for children, or can be used as a quiet study space (the study is popular with writers!). The family bathroom includes both a bath and shower. Outside, a wooden gate opens to countryside walking paths and hidden coves along the coastal trail. The village centre is just moments away, offering local pubs, artisan coffee and ice-cream shops, and the famed Hidden Hut, known for its communal feast nights (but book quickly, they sell out in seconds...). A few minutes up the hill, is The Standard - run by the owners of the Hidden Hut - considered one of the best pubs in the UK. Truro Station is a 30-minute drive with direct trains to London Paddington, making 2 Sunnyside a serene and accessible base combining heritage charm with modern comfort in one of Cornwall’s most sought-after villages Calendar. ----------------------------------------- From July till end August we run 7 night minimum stays with changeover day on Friday. Guest access Guests will have private use of the entire house which includes a delightful enclosed courtyard garden. Other things to note The third bedroom is set up as a study/reading room. There is a daybed in it which a child could sleep on, but is not comfortable enough for an adult. The house has been prepared with families in mind. It has a travel cot, high chair and one stair gate at the top of the steps. There are also a selection of kids' toys in the living room cupboard. The blinds in the bedrooms are not blackout blinds. However, there are portable blackout blinds available which can be attached to the windows if needed.
