In The Country is a modern country retreat situated on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula. The house sits in 15 acres of beautiful farmland, surrounded by spectacular mountain views, and is just a short trip to the coast in any direction. With the most beautiful beaches, great walking and outdoor activities close by, as well as great pubs and restaurants, In The Country is the perfect getaway. The space The newly refurbished farmhouse is fresh, light and bright. With a colour palette inspired by both coast and country it has a serene and calm feel. The house is spacious and suitable for large groups and family get togethers. In the Country can also cater for retreats and other group bookings. Our brand-new barn conversion provides the perfect space to host your celebration or just hang out in style. The rustic design perfectly complements the main house, making use of reclaimed materials and furniture. The outside kitchen sits under a beautiful oak frame, where you can serve up wood-fired pizzas and BBQ. For warm sunny days, open up the hydraulic bar hatch and double doors, and entertain whilst enjoying the views across the countryside. If it’s cold and wet, gather round the log burner on comfy sofas. Enjoy the state of the art home cinema and Sonos sound system, or a game of pool. Finally, check out the gym, with everything you need for a circuit-style workout. The showers are amazing! Using re-claimed tin from what used to be the roof of the barn! There are 6 ensuite bedrooms. Bed 1 - Superking/Twin with shower. Beautiful light room with white painted beams and a high ceiling allowing you to see the agricultural history of this part of the building. With the impressive panelled headboard, luxury ensuite bathroom and dressing area you will feel like you are staying in a 5 star hotel. With views over the surrounding farmland from the large comfortable bed, there really isn’t a nicer place to wake up. Bed 2 - Superking/Twin with bath/shower. This room also features beautiful exposed original beams, and two lovely deep window seats for taking in the views over the gardens and grounds. The superking bed can also be set up as two single beds if required. The beautiful bathroom has a deep and comfortable bath, perfect for sharing and beautiful timber panelling and tiles in a calm grey colour scheme. Perfect for a leisurely soak. Bed 3 - Kingsize with wet room. Our only ground floor bedroom is light, and airy with beautiful billowing washed linen curtains, a cast iron kingsized bed, and painted timber flooring. As with all the bedrooms there is a fitted wardrobe, and an antique chest of drawers, so plenty of storage space! The impressive wet room and bedroom have some decorative details that reflect the fern gardens and woodland that can be seen just outside. Bed 4 - Superking with optional additional single bed. Shower This bright and fresh room with timber paneled wall and painted old floorboards has a real holiday feel to it. The superking sized double bed and the option of two single trundle beds means that this room can be the perfect family or kids’ room. This is the only bedroom with a TV. This bedroom has its own staircase and the little landing features a dinky little barn door that would once have been used to load animal feed and bedding in and out of the barn. Bed 5 - Superking/twin. Bath & Shower This lovely bedroom has a best bit – and its best bit is the bathroom. The old enamel bath was an original from the old farmhouse, and has been restored and repainted to create a real wow factor. Marble tiles create an elegant feel to this bathroom, which also has a shower. A place you will long to spend time! Bed 6 - Superking. Shower. This bedroom has a bespoke bed and a lovely window seat, a perfect spot to watch birds in the woodland outside. In the bathroom an antique chest of drawers has been cunningly repurposed as a washstand in the bathroom with huge walk in shower. All rooms include luxury cotton bedding & big white fluffy towels, and bath mats. The house has been fitted with beautiful ceramic and enamel light fittings made in Stoke and Birmingham. The luxurious carpets were made in Britain from British wool, sofas made in Wales and the UK. The gorgeous handmade linen curtains were made from fabric sourced from a British company and made especially for each window by a local seamstress, even our wooden flooring was made from reclaimed wood in Manchester. Carefully chosen paint colours are from Farrow & Ball and Little Greene (which is made just down the road in Gwynedd). New beautiful tiles for the bathrooms were sourced from a small UK firm. The workforce who completed the renovation work on the house and barn were local Llyn artisans and craftspeople, who have taken great pride in producing a top end finish to this immaculately designed property. The focal point of the house is a huge double height kitchen. Exposed oak beams and beautiful stone work pay homage to this wow factor room’s history as a barn. And of course no farmhouse kitchen is complete without an Aga! This one is a brand new cream two oven electric aga with induction hob. There is a cavernous American style fridge freezer and specially designed handmade dining table which seats up to 14 guests comfortably on designer Philippe Starke Ghost chairs. The bespoke wooden kitchen is equipped with anything you might need to cook up a storm, including a mixer, blender, and other handy gadgets. The huge dresser unit is crammed full of Sophie Conran Portmerion crockery. This really is a cook’s kitchen with plenty of space, the huge island, a focal point for the room, is where everyone gathers for a chat, which means the cook is rarely left alone to their cooking! There is a formal drawing room, with a beautiful bay window which was rescued from a house that was being demolished by the properties previous owners. This room is elegant and calming with limed parquet flooring, billowing curtains and access out onto the gardens. This room features luxuriant velvet sofas, books for curling up with and an open fire. The light bright family room was converted from a barn. Its oak framed windows frame the views over the garden, The huge squishy sofas make it the perfect place for cuddling up in front of the log burner in front of the TV, or with a good book. The kitchen and lounges are equipped with a Bose Bluetooth speaker and our smart TV is set up with Netflix etc. In The Country has fibre-optic broadband, so its perfect if you do want to do some work away from the office. The utility room features a washing machine and dryer, an additional fridge freezer and an extra dishwasher as well as a huge pantry cupboard for food storage. The second part of the house is converted from another adjoining barn. Here you will find an open plan kitchen, dining area. The kitchen is equipped with oven, and fridge, plus a microwave. A bespoke oak topped dining table and restored Ercol chairs provide a dining area for 6 people. There is also another utility room with a washing machine. The dining area leads onto the lounge, with TV, comfortable seating, and access into the gardens. There are extensive gardens to explore In The Country. With bluebell woods, paddocks and meadows, and an orchard as well as sunny formal gardens – this is a beautiful outdoor oasis. In addition to our fabulous new barn, there is an outdoor dining area, seating areas and BBQ for the use of the guests. Our drive is a farm drive, 0.6 of a mile long. Please do check with us if you have a particularly low car! The house is close to Pwllheli Beach, Llanbedrog and Abersoch beaches, Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn beaches. Pwllheli , Nefyn & Abersoch also have a wide variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. Please ask if you would like some local recommendations. Other things to note: We do allow dogs. However please note this is restricted to 2 dogs in total, and we ask that you do not allow them up stairs. There is room for dogs to sleep in the utility area. Our usual change-over day for week long stays is Friday.
