'Meadow Yurt', Higher Trenear Farm

Genuine Mongolian Yurt, hand painted and beautifully made! Nestled into a hill overlooking farmland and woods. Peaceful and perfect for a rural retreat with no electricity. Solar lighting, tea lights and new wood burner. Separate composting loo (private!) right next door, short walk to shared shower facilities. Outside kitchen with gas cooker and all equipment. Sleeps 4/5 with space to spare, extra mattresses available. Outdoor furniture, BBQ and fire pit provided, tons of space to explore! The space basket of wood and kindling is provided, plenty more is available to buy from us if required. We do ask that only kiln dried wood is used in the yurt to avoid damage to the wood burners. The yurts are as 'green' as their paint! There is no electricity, instead we have provided solar fairy lights, solar lanterns and tea light lanterns.... and a view of the stars through the transparent central panel of the roof! Water is now piped to a tap just outside your yurt, and there is a 20l container in the kitchen area that you can fill if you would like to. There is an insulated cooler box, with ice blocks that can be exchanged every day, keeping your food fresh. A two ring gas cooker is provided in the outdoor kitchen, along with the BBQ. All cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery are provided. We supply all bed linen, including extra blankets and a hot water bottle, but please bring your own towels. Brand new for this season is a large picnic table, extra camping type chairs are supplied too. The composting toilet is right next door, and is only for your use! It is clean and odourless, and now has a small basin with running water for hand washing. The feel of the yurt as a whole is rustic but comfy, inside is a cosy and delightful space. Guest access You have the yurt, your own composting toilet, your outdoor kitchen and most of the field to yourself! There are other guests in our B and B rooms, and the second yurt, and they may meander around parts of the field from time to time. You are welcome to explore the small farm we are developing. We have our own eggs from our lovely chickens and ducks, when we have enough these are available for sale. We also have a few Tamworth pigs who are beautiful boys and love to be admired! By June we will also be joined by two Golden Guernsey goats who will be providing milk and hopefully (when we master it!) cheese. The shower facilities are in a nearby outbuilding and are shared with the other yurt (Our solar panels supply most of the electricity used in here). There is also a regular toilet in there! These facilities are basic, but clean and the shower is hot. There is also a dedicated washing up area adjacent to the shower area, it has hot and cold running water and is in the same room as the freezer and your new secure phone charging box! Other things to note If you need to charge a phone or iPad, there is a secure charging place available in an outbuilding. If you prefer to lose touch with the outside world - go ahead! We will provide initial supplies of tea, coffee, hot choc and sugar as well as some milk to get you started. There are tea towels, washing up equipment (including washing up liquid), salt and pepper and cooking oil. Please bring your own towels, torch and sturdy footwear!
