The Beach Hut, Charlestown

Situated in the heart of the harbour village of Charlestown, the Beach Hut is a granite-built annexe with a delightful en-suite bedroom (one comfortable double bed), a shower room consisting of a toilet, wash basin and walk-in shower (there is no bath), and a small balcony with sea views. There is free private parking. The space Charlestown is a small harbour village to the South East of St Austell. The harbour was built for the export of China clay produced a few miles inland, but this export business has ceased. There are several excellent restaurants and pubs in the village, which is very well situated for exploring Cornwall in all directions. Guest access The Beach Hut is only 2 or 3 miles from The Eden Project, and 5 or 6 miles from The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the fishing village of Mevagissey. To the East is the literary town of Fowey - for many years the home of Daphne Dumaurier and Quiller-Couche. Lanhydrock House and Gardens (NT) are within 20 minutes drive, close to Lostwithiel - Cornwall's capital in the days of the Stannary Parliament. Charlestown has a beach on either side of the harbour.
