Astor York is set in a beautiful Grade II listed building just minutes walk to the historic centre! With a huge cozy lounge, dining areas, free WiFi throughout the building and every room ensuite, Astor York is the perfect base for exploring the incredible historic centre of York. There is also a bar on the property if you fancy a drink with friends, or to meet fellow travellers, and a kitchen where you can cook your own food if you are on a budget. Reception hours (7 am to 12 am) Check-in is available from 3 pm to 10 pm. Check-out is from any time until 10:30 am. Please ensure you check out before 10:30 am; otherwise, you may be charged for an extra night. No curfew. (A staff member is available 24 hours a day for emergencies, a number will be provided if you have any issues, or you can call the hostel number directly). Payment Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, and debit cards. This property may pre-authorise your card before arrival. Taxes included. We cater for travellers between 18 and 40 years. Proof of identification: A valid proof of ID must be shown on arrival, including a passport, driving license, and national identity cards. The property cannot accept paper driving licenses and student or employee IDs as proof of identity. Failure to show proof of ID upon arrival will result in cancellation of the reservation without a refund. Key Card: You will be required to give us a £5 key deposit for your room access card at check-in time. Breakfast: We provide Breakfast every morning, which costs just £3.50 Dairy-free Milk: Coconut/soy/almond/ Regular Milk: skimmed and semi-skimmed Juices: Orange and apple Instant coffee, tea and hot chocolate Cereals: granola, rice pop, choco pop, honey hoop and cornflakes Bread: White and Wholemeal Spreads: White and milk chocolate (Nutella style), peanut butter, regular butter, plant base/dairy-free (butter style) honey, fruit jam (strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant and apricot) and marmite. (Items may vary depending on availability and hostel) Our Flamingo bar is open! Come and enjoy a selection of local/international beers and spirits. Common Areas: The kitchen/dining room and common areas are all back open to enjoy a meal or meet fellow travellers (The kitchen and lounges will be shut at midnight and reopening at 8 am). Facilities: Please be aware that our building has no lift and that you may be assigned to one of our top floors and a top bunk bed. Non-smoking. Events: The hostel organises events aimed at backpackers between the ages of 18-40 years. Age policy Please note that all bookings are subject to the signing of the property's terms and conditions via a rental agreement which will be emailed to the guest following their reservation. Reservations must be made for guests over the age of 18. Any reservations made for those under the minimum age will be cancelled, and you will not receive a refund. The property can only accommodate guests over 18 in shared dorms. Minors from 8 to 17 years old are accepted if accompanied by a parent/guardian. However, they must book an entire private dorm as they cannot share rooms with other guests outside their party. The maximum period of stay is of 14 days. When booking for 10 persons or more, different policies will apply. Luggage storage is free on the day of arrival and costs GBP 2.50 per bag on the day of departure. An extra fee of GBP 7.5 per bag per day applies for the days following check-out. Storage lockers for small valuables are available for GBP 2 per day. Self-Isolation - Guests who wish to self-isolate in the hostel must do so in a private room; guests must not perform the self-isolation period if coming from abroad in shared dorms.
