The place is a Tribute to our sweet Neighbors, who lived here for generations- since the XIX century, and took care of us when when our parents used to work in the Flea Market ( we lived on the 1rst floor for almost 20 years). Fernando Apart. is situated in a PEDESTRIAN, MEDIEVAL OLD STREET but away from the most busy places (Taxi/Uber stops 5 minutes walking), and here most people know each other! Chat with our neighbors at the balcony or on the doorsteps, hang your washing and you feel like a local! PLEASE NOTE: Like most of Alfama typical Apartments you will find little balconies and windows, small spaces without Ac ( we use fans!), low ceilings /frame doors (up to 1.90 m), thin walls made of wood and steep stairs (3 flights to get into the apartment/no elevator). There is no sound-proof, we can hear both...birds singing and the lively neeighborhood! * We advise bringing comfortable shoes and avoid heavy luggage, and kindly ask not using shoes inside the apartment. CENTRAL LOCATION Located in Alfama old neighborhood on a 2nd-floor old building, in a pedestrian medieval street, where students from university and old neighbors move in. And here most of the people know each other! If you like walking you are in the best district to get lost and enjoy the city (just 10 minutes walking from the city center). Public transports are all quite accessible. Just 5- min walking to SANTA APOLONIA STATION with Train/Metro (Blue line)/Buses (nº.728)/Taxis/ Charged Parking (8€/24h). Yellow 28 Tram around 10 min from the house. CLOSE TO RIVER where you can go for a walk, run, cycle or even practice yoga... A short walk away we find the vibrant FLEA MARKET (every tuesday and saturday), where our Family have been working since 1980 and the quiet and lovely Botto Machado Garden. Don`t miss a visit! Right outside the house we also find little cafés, restaurants, stores, bakery, self-service laundry, supermarket, pharmacy, bank and a little playground. Other things to note I IMPORTANT BEFORE BOOKING I *Check-in from 3pm-10 pm, and not available on Christmas Eve (and December the 25th), New Year`s Eve (and January the 1rst). MONTHLY RATING EXPENSES: Limit 2 Guest month and total 100 € for expenses (enough considering a reasonable using of water and electricity). **Alfama and Lisboa, is being renovated since the last 10/15 years, and we can find constructions around the neighborhood and street. * **The apartment is located in a old neighborhhod and building, in a pedestrian street. Taxi/Uber stops just 5 minutes walking from the apartment. ***Like most of these Alfama traditional apartments, walls are thin and without sound-proof and NO AC. We dont recommend to light sleepers. The staircase is STEEP and NARROW, not suitable for people with reduced mobility or leg issues. Ceilings and frame doors are not very high and can be unconfortable for tall guests (1.90 metters), mainly for long term staying. Registration Details 51615/AL
