Description
Rural, quiet location, grass farmland on edge of an old oak wood. 2 miles from Dorchester. Private annexe that has two large bedrooms with modern en-suite facilities. Also use of guest lounge area with gas burner and plenty of reading material. Ample car parking adjacent. Each room can be made up as either a Superking double or a twin, making it suitable for couples, friends or a single traveller. Book this individual room but option to book another in listing if group of four travelling. The space In the peak season (April-September) the property is run as a busy B&B however in the winter months the Standard rooms are closed with the two Superior, more spacious rooms still offered. These rooms that can be booked individually (for 1-2 people) or together (for 2-4 people) are located on the ground floor of an extension to the rear of the main house. Separate access makes the rooms quiet and hidden away with the only sound outside the window being the birdsong or wildlife on the bank outside the window. There is a very spacious sun lounge located along the corridor from the bedrooms with rattan sofas and armchairs and further seating (with a gas burner in the colder months). A good selection of books about nature, the local area, coastal photography is provided for guests to read and relax with. N.B. If both bedrooms are booked by a group then this living space becomes exclusive however booking just one room means that you may or may not see another set of guests if relaxing in front of the gas burner at the end of the day. Guest access The farmhouse is located up a long private drive away from the main road. In the height of summer this property operates as a full time B&B. Access is allowed to a private tennis court at the property. Bring your own rackets/balls/tennis shoes (flat not treaded). There is a woodland garden with benches situated to the side of the building. Large car parking area with outside lighting to the entrance of the annexe. In the warmer months there are tables and chairs on the paved area outside the sun lounge for relaxing in the early evening. During your stay I live at the farm and can be available to give advice on where to go during your stay in Dorset. Other things to note There are tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water and biscuits provided on a tray in the room. There is also a fridge for guest use in the dining room.
