Past the castle and through its private garden, you reach the sandstone haven of Wythburn. Sunlight floods into the well-equipped kitchen and dining room from arched windows. Uncork the wine and enjoy the complimentary hamper. If the Cumbrian mists descend, curl up by the cast iron log burner in the galleried lounge. Three ensuite double bedrooms including two on the ground floor welcome up to 6 guests. With grace and beauty inside and out, a stay at Wythburn promises memories to cherish. The space Converted with care, Wythburn Cottage has been transformed from a working sandstone barn within the Blencowe Hall estate into a luxurious retreat offering three spacious ensuite bedrooms and plenty of space to relax in its private sandstone walled and gated lawned garden. It has two ground floor bedrooms and offers terraces to the front and rear. Complimentary logs, kindling and firelighters are provided for its large cast iron log burning stove. Guest access Exclusive use of Wythburn Cottage, its large gated and sandstone walled garden and private gravelled parking. Other things to note Our property provides for our guests complimentary use of a Weber charcoal BBQ, a cast iron fire pit and a log burning stove. Key safety points Adverse weather/wind conditions can cause a fire to become out of control. We strongly advise not lighting the Woodburner, BBQ or Fire Pit if winds are blowing hard (particularly if above 20 mph). Use a minimal number of fire lighters – one is sufficient Use kindling to start a small fire and then slowly add larger pieces of wood. Never over fill the fire equipment with wood. Ensure the ash pan door* remains closed when using the woodburner. Do not leave fires unattended. Keep all people and pets away from fires. Ensure the fire has been extinguished before going to bed. Make sure ashes are cold before disposing of them in the metal ash bucket. In case of an emergency Woodburner – immediately close the primary air vent on the front of the stove. Keep stove doors and vents shut. Fire Pit & BBQ – Use sand from the outdoor bucket to smother the fire.
