After arriving on popular Bruny island it is a joy to leave the crowd behind as you wind down the private road through towering trees to the shores of sheepwash bay. Designed with couples in mind the shack is the perfect place for relaxation and romance. Set on the waterfront, in a national park like setting it offers an intimate retreat to call home during your exploration of Bruny Island. Home to the bruny baker you will awaken to the smell of sourdough baking . The space Salvaged king billy pine french doors open out onto a deck overlooking the bay and peaks of southern Tasmania. Enjoy lying in the clawfoot outdoor tub whilst watching the milky way and maybe spotting an aurora. It will be hard to drag yourself out of the comfortable king sized bed clad in lush linens. Another bath is set inside with a shower . Bathe indoors or lie in bed and watch the fire in the wood heater as it quickly warms the space. Enjoy preparing simple meals and great coffee in the kitchenette, and on baking days we will drop you warm bread , housemade jam and butter at the back door for breakfast. The toilet is a short stroll up a pathway to a flushing loo with a magnificent view. Staying at the shack offers an immersive stay- a taste of living off grid and a peek into a homesteading lifestyle. Enjoy wandering in the vegetable garden and picking some herbs. The shack offers an opportunity to live at a slower pace and reconnect with daily rituals and each other. Power from the sun, pure rainwater, and heating with wood are all a part of your stay. You will be able to see a full range of native wildlife, including wallabies, possums and quolls. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted with the sea and wedge tailed eagles, swift parrots and the 40 spotted pardalotes. Guest access You have full access to our private water frontage. A perfect place to snorkel or swim, launch your kayaks or cast a fishing line. Or simply go for a walk, investigate the flotsam and jetsam or enjoy a picnic. We are happy to share our vegetable gardens with you and you are welcome to visit the chickens. Walking over our 37 acres is welcomed. Other things to note There is so much to do on Bruny. If you also want some time to relax and enjoy your cabin, our 37 acre property and foreshore, we highly recommend staying more than 1 night. The toilet has one step to enter and is seperate to the main cabin and people with mobility issues may find this a challenge. We have a labradoodle (mIkey) on site so if fearful of dogs please let us know to have him locked up. We love him but can not host other animals on the property, as we are joined by wild bush and have no fencing. Support / guide dogs are naturally welcome and we appreciate if you can let us know at the time of booking. Registration Details Exempt: This listing falls under the 'home sharing' exemption
