Logan Creek Cottage - Jacksonport
Description
We hope you love our newly renovated home on Logan Creek as much as we do! We took a lot of time to renovate the small cabin wall to wall. The living room has abundant natural light with a picturesque window and large sliding glass doors over looking our porch and Logan Creek. All of these renovations were to increase the view of the natural beauty of the Logan Creek State Natural Area. Common plants include Canada mayflower, wild sarsaparilla, wood fern, yellow blue-bead lily, yellow trout lily, Pennsylvania sedge, sharp-lobed hepatica, and beech drops. Flowing through the site is Logan Creek, and 5.4 mile-long stream that flows southeast from Lost Lake and empties into Clark Lake. Logan Creek is designated as an Outstanding Water Resource and supports a state-endangered plant. Birds include ovenbird, red-eyed vireo, black-throated green warbler, eastern wood-pewee, great crested flycatcher, rose-breasted grosbeak, and hermit thrush. The house is located on 27 acres of forest - plenty of space to let the kids adventure and play! Our property is surrounded then by the Logan Creek State Natural Area, so no need to worry about neighbors. The creek is great for kayaking and canoeing, as well as campfires. We have a charcoal grill, and a fire pit that sits adjacent to the creek. The house is great for small gatherings, or just a quiet get away in the woods.
