After 7 years as a luxury B&B we have now switched to offering MDM as a luxury holiday home rental for up to 15 people. We also offer long term rentals (up to 1-2 years) for a reduced monthly rate for anyone looking to live in France for an extended period, contact us for more info and pricing. Please note that we live on site in our own private part of the house. We do not share any spaces with the guest accommodation but may occasionally cross paths in the garden or courtyard. The space Lovingly restored in a manner that allows the exceptional bones of the home to shine through, Warren and Shari created interiors as grand, intimate, intriguing, and inviting as the acre of gardens and orchard that surround it. Exposed stone walls throughout the home whisper the history of French families past who escaped the stuffy confines of Parisian summers for the fresh country air and produce of the Vendée. The manor’s original, solid oak floors testify to a bygone era of craftsmanship, worn soft by centuries of slipper-clad feet. Expert modern tile work, exceptional finishes, and cunning attention to detail complement the heavy wood beams, custom furniture, and polished, original doorframes. For modern families and travelers, Manoir du Moulin captures everything the heart yearns for in a European escape – true authenticity of the region, coupled with all the comforts of contemporary luxury… ✣Egyptian cotton, pressed, white linens with down and microfiber duvet and pillows for every 200x200 king-size bed (rare sleeping dimensions in France and southern Europe); ✣Italian-tile bathrooms with rain-shower, heated towel racks, plush bathrobes, and free-standing cocoon bathtub; ✣fireplace, flatscreen, and wi-fi in-room; ✣Study with fireplace, books, and beverages; ✣Large dining room with seating for 12+ (in the conservatory) Experiences to Write Home About Already unique in the Vendée for comfort and style, Warren and Shari are equally outdoing themselves for experiences and hospitality. Cooking lessons and dinners with world-renowned chefs, wine tastings with seasoned sommeliers, surf lessons and excursions, and in-room spa services are just a few fantastic options. Wandering the gardens, daydreaming in the orchard, or curling up by the fire in the study are a few more often unplanned, yet equally enjoyable (and often much-needed!) experiences for many manor guests. Plenty of fodder for postcards home, a charming collection of which are strategically strewn about the manor for guests to stumble upon and share. A short stroll in search of a post box will land you in the heart of St. Hermine – the village square – that springs to life every Friday morning with market stalls groaning under the weight of the region’s best and freshest everything. After a day spent gallivanting through French wine country, frolicking on the beach, and eating your way through the gastronomic history of the Vendée, there is no more welcoming abode to return to. Come home to the original stone fireplace in the Study, stoked to invite company. Help yourself to pantry shelves lined with all manner of beverages and delectables, all locally sourced or picked on the premises. In every room lies an elegant cocoon bathtub built for two and an impeccably made, deliriously soft, king-size bed. While you snooze soundly in your down-filled dream bed, homemade confitures wait for breakfast in the Conservatory, and bottles of Winston Churchill’s favourite champagne chill in the cellar. Truth be told, Manoir du Moulin does not simply receive, but generously gives back. All Ages Luxury Manoir du Moulin might be an obvious choice for couples, foodies, friends, and grown-ups of every persuasion, let it be known that this manor house is as welcoming to wee ones as it is the mature. With two young children of their own running about, Warren and Shari were naturally careful to consider the needs of family in their handling of the Manoir’s hospitality services. Cots, playpens, high chairs, toys, and a wading pool are just a few needful items that can be made to magically appear. Not to mention the all-important, well-known and trusted babysitter, for when mommy and daddy feel like a quiet dinner, and perhaps a turn on the dancefloor of Le Manoir – one of the most famous nightclubs in France, which happens to be stumbling distance from Manoir du Moulin. Fourty minutes from the cities of Nantes and La Rochelle, with their lively cultural scenes and international airports, and twenty minutes to a multitude of châteaux, historic attractions, and incredible restaurants, Manoir du Moulin offers attractive packages for a variety of stays. The “Wicked Weekend” package packs as much (or as little) into 2.5 days as possible for hen nights, couples retreats, or romantic getaway. The “Wonderful Wedding” package is totally turnkey, with food, wine, photographer, and music included. The “Corporate Coddling” package is aimed at business retreats, whether branding session (for which Swan is an expert insider), team-building, or executive reward. The “Family Vacay” package gives extended families or groups of families a blissfully stress-free itinerary. Last but not least, the “Inspired Extended Stay” package is an opportunity for artists or anyone wishing to experience the region at length to do so with every creature comfort available. You can find out more about this exquisite luxury retreat in the Loire at ManoirduMoulin.com Guest access Guest have access to a study equipped with a large flatscreen TV, computer and mini bar, fully equipped kitchen and the 5500 square meters of gardens. Other things to note Please note that we live on site in our personal/private part of the house, completely separated from the guest house by locked doors. We are therefore here to help with anything you may need however can also be completely invisible depending on your requirements. Due to COVID-19 requirements for professional deep cleaning and disinfection of the house after every group of guests, our costs are much higher than in the past. The cleaning fee helps us to cover these additional costs. We therefore ask that the house is left clean and more or less the way you find it when you arrive in order to facilitate the deep cleaning and disinfection process that we follow after you leave, thanks for understanding.
