The Creaking Log Cabin, 10 min to Cherokee casino
The Creaking Log Cabin, 10 min to Cherokee casino
Description
It looks like a cabin, but sounds like a haunted house! The Creaking Cabin earned its name honestly: as temperatures shift, the logs pop, settle, and occasionally sound like someone walking. Cathedral ceiling, gas fireplace, king bedroom downstairs, king and queen in an open loft above. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, 2 baths. Ten minutes to Harrah's Cherokee Casino and downtown Bryson City, twenty to the Smokies. Front porch with rocking chairs and a hammock guests don't want to leave. The space The Creaking Cabin sits 10 minutes from Cherokee in one direction and 10 minutes from Bryson City in the other. Most log cabins in this area make you choose. This one doesn't. Downstairs there's a private king bedroom, a TV, a full bathroom with shower, a full kitchen (stove, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker), a washer and dryer, and a living area with a gas fireplace, a TV, and a cathedral ceiling that opens the whole space up. The kitchen is stocked for real cooking, not just reheating. Upstairs is an open loft with a king bed and a queen bed, plus its own bathroom with a bathtub and a large glass-top desk if you need to get a little work done. The front porch is the most-used part of the property. Rocking chairs, wind chimes, a hammock, and a quiet, wooded setting. Mornings are coffee and birdsong; evenings tend to end out there. Nearby Attractions: - Harrah's Cherokee Casino: 10 min - Downtown Cherokee: 11 min - Downtown Bryson City: 10 min - Sequoyah National Golf Club: 7 min - Great Smoky Mountains National Park: 20 min - Oconaluftee Indian Village & Museum of the Cherokee People: 13 min - Mingo Falls: 25 min - Downtown Sylva: 17 min The layout gives you both a private bedroom downstairs with a door that closes and an open loft that keeps everyone connected. The cabin works well as a Polar Express base in winter. Guest access - Entire cabin - Covered front porch with rocking chairs, hammock, wind chimes, and cornhole boards - Living room with gas fireplace and TV - TV in the downstairs bedroom - Full kitchen (Keurig, microwave, dishes, cookware) - Washer and dryer - Glass-top desk in the loft - Private gravel parking - Wifi Other things to note Cabin Sounds: The wood walls can creak at night. If this might bother you, please pack some earplugs. Upstairs Bathroom: Tub only, no shower. Downstairs Bathroom: The tub has jets, but they're not in service, so treat it as a standard soaking tub with a shower. A two-step stair helps with the high step in, but it may still not be a good fit for guests with mobility concerns. The Loft: Open to the living room below, so sound and light carry more than they would in an enclosed bedroom. Dishwasher: No dishwasher, so dishes are washed by hand. Outdoor Fires: This is a small residential area where outdoor fires aren't permitted, so there's no fire pit, grill, or outdoor fire setup. Driveway: Gravel. GPS sometimes routes guests to the wrong driveway, so use the directions we send before check-in. Property Layout: A tiny house sits farther up the same driveway. You have the cabin and its parking to yourself, but the driveway continues past you to that unit. Ice Maker: The refrigerator ice maker/water dispenser does not work, so guests who want ice should plan to bring a bag or use the provided ice trays in the freezer.
