Laurel was thoughtfully converted from a stable block with complete single-level access throughout - perfect for families with young children or multi-generational groups who want adventure without accommodation challenges. THE INDOOR HEATED POOL This is exceptionally rare for North Wales holiday cottages: a full-size 11m heated pool maintained at 28°C year-round. Available 24/7 except Friday morning cleaning (9am-11am). Why this matters: North Wales weather is unpredictable. While other families are stuck indoors on rainy days, your children can swim. Early risers can do laps before breakfast. It's the ultimate rainy-day insurance and year-round entertainment. The 11m pool is shared exclusively between Laurel and Fig Tree (our neighbouring cottage in the courtyard) - you'll never encounter public day-visitors or outside swimmers. Maximum capacity on site is 9 people total across both cottages. Inflatables and pool toys welcome. Safety: The pool is unsupervised. Children under 16 must be supervised by a competent adult at all times. No diving (depth doesn't allow). Please use your own towels, not the bath sheets from the cottage. YOUR PRIVATE HOT TUB Your private patio features a hot tub with panoramic Eryri views - perfect for evening soaks under the stars. We empty, sanitise and refill it between guests. The hot tub is exclusively yours (not shared), though the patio connects to the shared garden areas. Hot tub rules: Children under 6 not permitted. Ages 6-15 must be supervised. No glass allowed. Please shower before entering to remove fake tan, creams and oils. LIVING & DINING The open-plan living area features a large corner sofa and a Smart TV with DVD player. French windows open directly onto the patio, offering clear views of the mountains. The cottage has full central heating throughout to keep you warm and comfortable. BOOT ROOM & WORKSPACE Unlike many cottages, Laurel features a dedicated boot room - perfect for drying wet coats and muddy hiking boots. It also contains a desk and chair, providing a quiet space for remote work. KITCHEN A fully equipped space designed for real cooking. Amenities include a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and a Nespresso machine (starter pods provided). You can dine at the indoor table or head out to the patio. BEDROOMS (Sleeps 4) We use high-quality 100% cotton linen with hypo-allergenic pillows and duvets. - Master bedroom: Super-king bed with premium mattress. Double-aspect windows make this room very bright - Bedroom 2: Two single beds with west-facing views over the Conwy Valley BATHROOM Modern suite featuring a double-ended bath and a separate walk-in shower. Complimentary toiletries provided. THE GARDEN Your private patio connects to over an acre of shared gardens with stunning mountain views. The garden is shared between Laurel and Fig Tree with no internal fencing (by design, for uninterrupted views). Garden perimeter: Rural stock fencing (wooden posts with wire mesh) generally keeps sheep out, but the driveway has a gate that stays open for access and leads onto a quiet country lane. Please supervise dogs at all times, especially if prone to wandering or chasing livestock. Dogs: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs welcome (£35 per dog per stay, must book in advance). EV CHARGING We have a shared 7kW Type 2 tethered EV charging point on the outside wall of the laundry room, powered by Voltshare (pay-as-you-go via app). See "Other Things to Note" for full details. Once unloaded, please move your car to the dedicated parking bays (approximately 10m away, level paved surface). Two parking spaces per cottage (more available on request). THE ROAD Access to the cottage is via a steep, single-track tarmac road. There are passing places, but please take your time if you are not used to rural Welsh lanes. YOUR HOSTS We (the owners) live in the main house a short distance downhill from the cottages. We respect your privacy but are nearby if you need anything. We also have two resident cats who roam the grounds - they're friendly but keep their distance from the cottages. Other things to note HOT TUB & POOL We empty, sanitise and refill your hot tub between guests. It's typically ready for an evening soak after you've settled in and unpacked. The indoor pool is shared between our two cottages and is open 24/7 except Friday mornings (9am-11am) for cleaning. PETS POLICY We welcome dogs only - no cats or other animals. Our property has two resident cats who roam the grounds, and we've found that guest cats cause territorial stress and potential conflicts. Additionally, our furniture and fixtures are not designed to withstand cat scratching. Up to 2 dogs per cottage, £35 per dog per stay. QUIET HOURS We ask all guests to observe quiet hours between 10pm and 8am. This means keeping noise to a minimum, particularly in the garden and outdoor areas. You're in a rural location where sound travels, and we want everyone to enjoy a peaceful stay. CHECK-OUT EXPECTATIONS Check-out is 10am. We don't expect you to deep clean, but we do ask that you: - Take all rubbish to the bins - Load and run the dishwasher - Remove all food from fridge/freezer - Clear dog mess from the garden EV CHARGING DETAILS We have a shared 7kW Type 2 tethered EV charging point on the outside wall of the laundry room, powered by Voltshare. It's pay-as-you-go via the Voltshare app. Simply scan the QR code, pay through the app, and plug in. No need to bring your own cable. For insurance and safety reasons, domestic 'granny chargers' running from standard plug sockets are strictly prohibited. MOBILE SIGNAL & WIFI Mobile signal is generally very good (varies by network). WiFi averages 30-40 Mbps - sufficient for streaming and video calls. As with any rural location, speeds can occasionally fluctuate. SUPERMARKET DELIVERIES We're within the delivery area for Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda, Waitrose and Ocado. When booking delivery, please include 'Laurel' in the address and schedule for after 4pm. WEATHER CONSIDERATIONS North Wales weather can be unpredictable! The indoor heated pool is perfect for rainy days, and the hot tubs are wonderful even in the rain. The cottage has full central heating to keep you cosy whatever the weather. WHAT TO BRING - Towels: We provide bath sheets and hand towels, but please bring your own towels for the pool and hot tub. - Babies: A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Please bring your own bedding for the cot. THE GROUNDS & NEIGHBOURS Laurel shares the courtyard with our other cottage, Fig Tree. To preserve the panoramic views, there are no fences separating the two cottages.
