The gîte is on 3 floors and has been renovated sympathetically with traditional materials in keeping with its style and age. The quarter is situated on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostelle in Spain and is a few minutes walk to the river Thouet, the chateau ruins and the commercial centre of Parthenay. Description: An interior staircase leads to the first floor which has a large lounge (45m2) with an annex bedroom (bed 140cm). There is an adjacent kitchen/day room with under floor gas fired central heating and a bathroom with shower and toilet. Facilities include a dishwasher, a microwave, an enclosed wood burning fire, satellite TV, a DVD player, music hifi and broadband with wifi. The second floor comprises two intercommunicating bedrooms (Room 1 is 22m2 with a 140cm bed; Room 2 is 10m2 with a 90cm bed) and a bathroom with toilet. The third floor comprises another bedroom with a sloping ceiling (15m2 with two 90cm beds, useable either together or separated). The charges for the gîte include fully made up beds prior to arrival and full facilities for a baby (cot, high chair, toys etc). At the back of the property is a paved courtyard (48m2) facing east which is accessible from the day room, and has garden furniture and a barbeque.There is also a small garden (53m2) with espalier trees and a pergola. Location: Parthenay is a town noted for its art and history, its festivals and Norman architecture, The gîte is well placed at approximately 60 min by road from Poitiers (airport), Futuroscope, the Marais Poitevin (often referred to as the green Venice) and Le Loire (with its chateaux and vineyards).
