Banksia Cottage - Stanthorpe

The perfect place to relax on The Granite Belt, in a country setting north of Stanthorpe. Make this your home base to enjoy what the area is famous for. The Summit is a short drive from town. Great wineries and attractions nearby or within 40 min drive. Drive yourself, book a taxi or local wine tour to get around during your stay. Same total cost to you, less to host while look like we increased our rate :( The space Inspired by yesteryear, Vintage style accommodation. The cottage is 2 bedrooms, lounge/dining, kitchen, bathroom and has a full length front verandah that overlooks a large enclosed yard. At the back is a covered patio and barbecue area. There is a fire pit area in the side yard. You are on a farm and you may hear the usual working farm activities and animal noises. Our animals are not the petting variety, they are in paddocks beyond your accommodation. The kitchen is a separate, compact space equipped with a fridge, microwave and full size upright stove/oven (no dishwasher) and there is a closet style laundry. You have a fireplace (own wood required)as well as reverse cycle air conditioning and electric blankets to keep you toasty in winter. The heated towel rail in the bathroom provides a little luxury to keep your towels warm. Outside there is a firepit perfect for toasting marshmallows (own wood needs) We are a small working farm 1.33km off the New England Highway, on the Qld/NSW border. There are four houses situated within walking distance of each other. Guest access The entire place is yours and the garden areas. Other things to note Firewood is not provided in your booking. Bags are available at various places in Warwick and Stanthorpe. Alternatively let us know when making booking and we can have bags available for you to buy. Toilet is a septic system so only toilet paper is to be flushed. Products advertised as ‘flushable’ are not suitable for septics. No free wifi available but wifi will work in this area. We are not a ‘farmstay’ and do not offer interactive farm activities like horse riding, cow milking etc.
