The Poet’s House is a newly renovated flat in an old stone house right on the sea in the Dalmatian village of Postira on the island of Brac. The home is an historical landmark as the poet Vladimir Nazor was born there in 1876. The site is perfect for a traditional Dalmatian vacation. Come to enjoy time with friends or family; or to write that novel you’ve always dreamed of starting. The space Highlights During your stay you can enjoy the large shared terrace with a spectacular view of Postira’s bay, old town and sunset, as well as the private back Romeo and Juliet balcony terrace, where you can relax with a quiet morning coffee. Prepare dinners in the large open kitchen while enjoying wine with your friends and family, or go to any of Postira’s excellent seafood restaurants, just seconds from your door. Walk to any of the town’s village beaches in minutes, or hop on a Vespa or get in your car to explore Brac’s beautiful beaches and numerous private coves. The apartment has a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and a top of the line mattress to ensure great night of sleep. While perfect for a couple, the sofa bed in the living room opens into a bed as well, where 2 children or another couple could comfortably sleep. The living room has a couch, reading chair with ottoman and satellite TV. The kitchen has all the amenities you need, including a full stovetop/oven, large refrigerator/freezer, water kettle and toaster. You have pots and pans, plates, bowls, glasses, mugs and utensils if you’d like to eat in. Sheets and large bathroom/shower towels are provided. There is a washing machine, and a drying rack. The apartment has Wi-Fi you can use inside or on the terraces, and satellite TV with channels to suit every taste. Or turn it all off and enjoy a truly quiet and relaxing getaway on the island. Arrival: There are regular ferries from Split to Supetar. Once you arrive in Supetar, and after you collect the keys at Dalmatian Property Management office it’s a 15 minute drive to Postira (and on the way you’ll already see some great beaches you will want to check out!) If you don’t have a car there are plenty of taxis waiting near the ferry dock. If you are driving, enter Postira, drive towards the sea and the center, and you will see a free public parking lot. It’s just minutes to the apartment. Walk towards the sea and take a right to walk towards the town center, with the marina and water on your left. (Cars are prohibited from the seaside walk, allowing for a lovely nightly stroll.) You will pass several café bars and restaurants and then will come to Porat 34. There is an iron gate and is one flight of around 10 stairs to the flat. House Rules No smoking inside; if you smoke outside please dispose of your cigarette butts properly Not suitable for large dogs; be in contact with the owner if you would like to ask about bringing a small dog. No parties or events. When Preparing to Leave: Double-check all drawers and closets for your personal items. Please hang used towels in bathroom or put in the shower; please do not leave wet towels on the floor. Ensure all doors and windows are closed and locked. We're happy to answer any questions. Enjoy Dalmatia! Guest access Getting to Brac: Take the car ferry from Split harbour. Split harbour is 20 kilometres from Split airport. The crossing takes about 50 minutes. You can book your ferry tickets on the ferry line website or buy them at the ticket office on arrival. If you book online you have to enter a ferry time but the tickets are valid for any ferry on the day. For Supetar you can't book a place for your car on a specific ferry. The cost of a one-way ferry ticket for a car up to 5m in length is 26,10 Euros. Adult tickets are 6,50 Euros, children between 3-12 years old pay 3,20 Euros.
