Bucket Lock Cottage is situated on the Stratford-upon-Avon canal between Preston Bagot and Lowsonford and is part of the community of Yarningale Common. It was built over 200 years ago and is unique to the Stratford Canal, due to its unusual barrel shaped roof. This is one of only 5 examples in the country. It is the ideal place to explore the surrounding countryside with immediate access to numerous public footpaths and the towpath. There are 2 pubs within a 20-25 minute walk. The space The cottage has 2 double bedrooms (one with ensuite toilet and sink), a large triple-aspect lounge with fireplace and wood-burning stove, private entrance hall with separate door to the garden (for the sole use of guests), a family bathroom with bath and shower and a fully fitted kitchen. The garden is private and has outdoor seating. Guest access There is parking in the driveway for 2 cars. Although you can walk to two pubs, a car is recommended to explore the wider area and to get to the shops. The nearest shops are in Henley-in-Arden. Other things to note Due to the age of this property, it does not benefit from full modern insulation, although new double glazed windows have been installed throughout. Therefore the property can get cold during the winter months. We therefore offer all guests an unlimited wood supply (for the large wood burner in the lounge) to supplement the existing CH system. There is plenty of hot water.
