On your door step there is a green area with a children’s play area and there is a great opportunity for shopping within walking distance at Fife Central Retail Park with high street shops and an abundance of places to eat. Hollybrae House is a great year round location with lots of events and activities in Kirkcaldy. In April the town hosts Europe’s longest street fair and for guests who enjoy the theatre, The Adam Smith Theatre offers a regular programme all year. Kirkcaldy Galleries is well worth a visit with national collections of work to view including that of Jack Vettriano, who was born in the area. There are some great walks to be had locally, and the esplanade and beaches overlook the Firth of Forth where you can join the Fife Coastal Path to venture further afield. The local parks have woodland walks and formal gardens and the town has a rich history with historic buildings to visit including the ancient Ravenscraig Castle. This area is known as the Fife Riviera and a little further along the coast are the seaside towns of Burntisland and Aberdour, which has a pretty harbour and two white sandy beaches and walks along the cliffs. For guests planning to visit the Edinburgh International Festival or one of the many events throughout the year, the bustling city of Edinburgh is only 25 minutes away by train and you can enjoy the city without the stress of parking.
