The Garden Rooms is, very cosy & hygge feel & design for 1-4 people (we can add a 5th person (put up bed) with notice) your own private hot tub (not shared) & huge patio garden plus a fire pit too. Set in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. Here is our usual introduction and basic information for you... We are a friendly, welcoming country house in one Dartmoor's most popular locations. We look forward to offering you a very comfortable stay and friendly, warm welcome within our private but family owned accommodation. We hope you'll find soaking and bubbling in our new high end luxury Hotsprings hydrotherapy hot tub pretty special after a day of exploring. (On the odd occasion use of the hot tub maybe delayed slightly on your arriving day due to a warm refill and reheat or extended clean-we aim to have it functional on these rare occasions by the evening) it’s extremely rare that a slight delay occurs. The hot tub is for our guests soul use, it is not shared. (We do ask that the hot tub cover is always opened and closed by two people. This is vitally important and we also ask that no glasses are used in the hot tub. The use of plastic ‘glasses’ is fine). Please wear bathing clothes in the hot tub. This is lovely, spacious, cosy accomodation; there are two king sized beds in two bedrooms and it's located within a private setting at the garden level of a large and historic country house (we can add an extra portable bed after request if required). The amazing outdoor private hot tub is very special and a fantastic way to relax and add some extra luxury to your stay. It's lovely to bubble the night away under the Dartmoor sky. We have wifi Internet and there's a flat screen TV with Freeview, a land a huge selection of movies to choose from also. We have a fully fitted kitchen with all the appliances you'd expected. The self contained Garden Rooms offers all the expected facilities and more including a Tassimo coffee machine. There's a large shower / wet room and separate toilet. There's a large private natural stone patio, and huge stepped decked seating area for outdoor entertaining & relaxing. The Garden Rooms can be lit by the added lamps, creating a very cosy and ‘Scandi’ welcoming feel to the contemporary, airy Garden Rooms. The house dates to approximately 1850 and is steeped in published history. We're only a 2 minute walk from open moorland and a 5 min walk from great local country pubs; it's only a 10 minute drive to Tavistock or the River Dart or Rover Walkham. There's a local post office, cafes and two country pubs in walking distance. We are also a very close walk to The National Park Moorland Visitors Centre. There are some fabulous walks from our doorstep too. Especially along the old trails towards Burrator or towards Frog In Tor among the now disused railway lines (hiking and cycle tracks). The main floors of the house are completely separate and our small family do live in the upper main house, our Garden Rooms are on the lower ground floor of the main property and are fully self contained and private to our guests; we offer the option for well behaved dog guests at a small extra charge (£10.00 per night per dog, we just ask dogs are not left alone at any point and not permitted on soft furnishings). There are many many dog friendly pubs and some great restaurants too - we can send you an ideas list with this included information; we ask doggy guests that are clean and dried off of course when entering the accomodation. This charge can be paid on arrival or via Airbnb direct. Of course children are very, very welcome we have a large garden and trampoline and also an adventure playground area which we have built for our families use, but you are welcome to use that too - it’s not commercially built but our family love it. We have safe key code access available if required, we offer full facilities for couples, familes or small groups of friends looking for some really welcoming comfortable accomodation and outdoor time out in a great location. We have some wild honey bees too and also a wild nature pond - depending the time of the year you can find frogs and newts... it’s a lovely garden with great walks into the wilds of Dartmoor on our doorstep. We are only approximately 6.5 miles from Tavistock - and low cost Taxi fares are available if you fancy a night out with no driving. There are some great local relaxed restaurants - Taylor’s and The Cornish Arms are our favourites, or giving you some other pointers of places to eat, drink or visit-so there's no need to miss out on finding great places. The area is fantastic for relaxing, and exploring the beautiful local villages and the local town of Tavistock. For the more energetic it's a fabulous location for biking (local bike hire's available), riding (local riding centres), climbing (The Barn) or outdoor climbing, hiking, canoeing and kayaking (we can also assist you in booking great kayaking too, fishing, photography and more... The Dartmoor scenery is hugely varied and really spectacular - from huge swathes of upland moor and massive sky’s with tracks that take you miles into the middle of nature. To stunning ‘middle earth’ looking river valleys and crystal clear waters... There are lots of tantalising 'foodie venues' too all close by; plus markets and lovely shops in and around Dartmoors local villages and Towns. We are easy access in the car to Plymouth Hoe and The Barbican also (we recommend Pier One Restaurant and coffee stop) it’s built above the sea with incredible views and you can even duo your toes in or take your swim wear if you fancy a proper dip. We are located in a fantastic location to of course explore Dartmoor but also explore the north or south coasts of Devon and Cornwall. People usually say that they wished they booked an extra night or two.., so we’d recommend a three night break to really relax and get to experience some fabulous days out... (we’ll send you an amazing ideas list after you’ve booked to help you experience the best and the hidden gems of the area). We offer stays from two nights but often three to four are the most sort after up to two weeks or longer on request. Tthere is a different place to visit everyday either a walk from your accomodation or a drive to a local beauty spot, fabulous beach’s, incredible rivers and river side walks, to amazing villages or historic National Trust properties. So staying with us will offer a location to explore Dartmoor and it’s fantastic beauty spots or enjoy easy day trips to a wealth of north or south coast villages, beaches and river valleys (in Devon and in close by Cornwall). We wish you an easy and relaxing and very welcoming stay in The Garden Rooms. We don’t have outdoor lighting, although the hot tub has its own great underwater lighting and the patio doors allow light from the lounge to shine outside near the hot tub. Some guests bring a torch if they are arriving or departing The Garden Rooms in the dark - we recommend you bring a torch for dark nights. The Garden Rooms has some internal stairs, and also a couple of steps accessing The Garden Rooms and the private patio and deck area. Please be aware wet surfaces Inside and out can be slippy of course, and ensure you and your party are in good health to use our hot tub, there's also an wildlife pond. If your group exceeds two people there is a supplement of £17.50 per person ages 3 years and over (per night). Babies. If you require a cot or high chair please give us notice to ensure this is available. Please bring your own cot mattress and your preferred baby sheets for comfort and we will proved the cot and high chair for you as requested - no problem at all. (Christmas & New Year Only the whole property (Dartmoor Grange) including the private upper house is available to book - please see Dartmoor Grange as advertised on Airbnb. It sleeps up to 14 people / 16 with potable beds for added youngsters. There is a 15 % supplement at Dartmoor Grange to cover extras such as decorations, and treats over this two week Christmas and the New Year holiday period. Holls and family Guest access We are located on the outer edge of Princetown village. Princetown is one on the highest villages in the UK and located 5 miles north of Yelverton and 6 miles from Tavistock. We are literally surrounded by huge open space and stunning natural surroundings. You'll find Chaplains House and The Garden Rooms located between a red phone box and the Historic Church of St Michael & all Angels. You will have your own private access through the The Garden Rooms private patio doors, and you will also be able to enjoy the use of our outdoor modern Hot Springs 5-6 hydrotherapy hot tub (great after a day exploring!) - this is fir your private use only; you have full use of our garden too should you wish (there is a large unfenced pond - adults must remain responsible for children in the garden and pond larea and around or in the ho t tub - we advise you to check your health regards your use of the hot tub). You have use of your own private fenced and decked seating area and patio with BBQ over looking the historic church (which we are located adjacent too). We are less than a 2 minute walk away from huge open moorland and expansive horizons and fabulous walks; and a very short bike ride to 'cross moorland' cycle tracks and hiking routes. We are only a 3-4 minute walk from a village post office / shop, two cafes / coffee shops and 2 country pubs. So if you are looking to escape busy life and find some space and freedom of the great outdoors then our private accommodation will tick all your boxes.
