Chhotaram and Mamata's Home is situated Salawas which is situated on the outskirts of Jodhpur, around 20 Kilometers away from the heritage city which is known for its vibrancy and culture. This walled family compound is composed of a large family home surrounded by 9 huts. individual clay huts serving as individual guest rooms. Each hut has its own western style bathroom attached. These traditional dwellings (huts) have a clean, unique and contemporary feel, and feature hand-painted designs done by the women artists of the family. All structures face into an open courtyard. The Prajapats family belong to the weaver class and have earned their livelihood weaving beautiful Durries (rugs) for many, many generations. Because 3 generations of Prajapats live, work, play, and weave here at the Homestay, guests will see rugs being woven right in the courtyard. Chhotaram’s father, Pukhraj Ji, organized a weaver’s cooperative representing 45 Rajasthani families. Rugs created by many of these cooperative artists are also displayed here. Whatever your daytime activities might be, you will surely not want to miss any of the 3 mouth-watering meals served daily at the Homestay. Rajasthani food is famous for it’s unique flavors and the women of the family lovingly prepare these authentic and delicious dishes In the 3RD paragraph, about the Rajasthan food and meals served,over an open fire in the courtyard -- as you watch!
