Description

A Solar-powered jungle farm-stay with four rooms at Kanha National Park. We are off the gird, the life is simple but the experience wild. We have 4 family rooms, two in the main Homestay Makaan and two Large Huts. We can easily accommodate 12 people. The cost is per person per night with breakfast. Breakfast is VEG. If you want all meals there is a per plate price extra payable at Kamp. Children under 5 are FREE The space Built as per the local tradition with mud and bricks, the main Homestay Makaan at Kamp has a pleasant veranda and semi-enclosed living room that works as a sit-out area, tea break space, and peaceful reading room. The high and heavy gauge metal roof has been thatched with a local grass which regulates the temperature and keeps things cool in the summer. The overall effect is one of a Jungle or Plantation home. The main Homestay Makaan is appointed with two large 400 square-foot bedrooms, which are kitted to accommodate a family each. Parents with two kids or three adults can comfortably enjoy their stay here. The washrooms have western systems and are highlighted with handmade washbasins. The Homestay Huts Kamp Kamouflage is spread over almost 4 acres of typical Kanha forest land. Dense groves of trees, open grasslands, and undulating rocky patches make Kamp a microcosm of the magnificent Kanha National park. Here one can find two Mud and brick huts built once again in the local architectural style. Arched sit-outs frame large rooms topped with spacious bath and wash areas, All our furniture and woodwork here is sourced from the recycled wood market in Jabalpur. The huts are segregated into three parts, the sitting and sleeping area are separated by a wall and the wash area gets an eight-foot-tall mud wall. All our living areas are appointed with examples of Ameya’s photographs of views of Kanha National Park and its diverse wildlife. We have 4 comfortable family rooms, two in the main Homestay Makaan and two Large Huts. We can easily accommodate 12 people and up to 15 in a tight fit. All rooms are fitted with Western Toilet systems and have running water at room temp. Hot water is provided by buckets. All rooms are fitted with Desert Coolers. We have no air conditioning/TV/Internet. Unfortunately, mobile connectivity has reached Kamp and JIO works quite well here. The Kitchen The hub of life in Kamp is the Kitchen with its attached Dining area. We have an open kitchen policy at Kamp and the physical kitchen reflects that approach. An open-plan kitchen allows our guests to enjoy the aroma of fresh food being cooked and accommodates any desires they may have to try out their hands at a dish or two. Our dining area is airy and offers views all around. We can easily accommodate 10/12 adults in our dining area in one go and our dining tables and benches are truly unique. If you can’t figure it out from the photos you will have to come to Kamp and hear the story of the dining glory. Our open kitchen idea extends itself further by inviting our local friends to come over and cook for us. Wood-fired Dum Biryani, Mutton Korma and a special recipe for Dhaniya fish curry are cooked lovingly by our friends who are drivers and guides working in Kanha National Park. Food at Kamp : Here are some glimpses of our menu plans Breakfast – is almost always Indian – Kande Poha, Upma with green peas and dhaniya, Aloo Parantha, Aloo Piyaz Parantha, Mix Pakodas, etc. We provide a packed Breakfast for Safaris or outbound guests as well. We prepare Lunch and Dinner at an extra cost payable in cash ate Kamp. Lunch – Is always Veg and consists of Rice, Roti, Dal, One Sabzi, Salad and Pickle. Dinner – It usually consists of Rice, Roti, Dal, One Sabzi, one Non-Veg dish, Salad, and Pickle, unless it is one of our specials as explained earlier. The Power Plant Kamp Kamouflage Homestay is a pure solar-powered property. We have a 4 KV solar power plant and we are the only pure solar-powered tourism project in India. We run our entire operation using solar power as our primary source and have a diesel generator as a backup only. Our power plant is a TATA inverter-based with Solar Panels from Maharaja Solar from Delhi. The battery backup system and all wiring/cabling has been expertly set up by Laxman from Maharaja Solar. The Water Supply As with power so too with water, we are totally self-sufficient with one bore well with has a simple hand pump fitted. The cool water from this pump is highly refreshing and we strongly recommend an open bath at the hand pump to wash away the day’s tiredness. Our drinking water comes from our wells. Called a poor man’s well because of the conditions it was built in, it has wonderful sweet water, and all the locals at Kamp drink it straight off the tap. For our guest, we offer this mineral water after boiling it. Guest access To live in the jungle, one must blend in. Kamp Kamouflage Kanha Homestay is small step to live in the jungle while living with the jungle. Spread across 3.78 acres of typical Kanha woodland, Kamp has more than 200 hundred trees of different local varieties. We have more the 20 different varieties of grasses and shrubs as well and we have added more than 300 saplings of Bamboo, Neem, Tamarind, Mango, Jamun, Amla and Nimboo. All our plantation is in random and apparently unplanned fashion. The layout of the land is unaltered and in its natural condition. The overall effect is that of being in the jungle. That’s because Kamp Kamouflage is a Jungle Home Stay and you have access to the entire place. Other things to note We have 4 comfortable family rooms, two in the main Makaan and two Large Huts. We can easily accommodate 12 people and up to 15 in tight fit. All rooms are fitted with Western Toilet systems and have running water at room temp. Hot water is provided by buckets. All rooms are fitted with Desert Coolers. We have no air conditioning/TV/Internet. Unfortunately mobile connectivity has reached Kamp but thankfully it is quite temperamental.
