Peacefully situated in a delightful rural location, this charming stone cottage offers supremely comfortable and spacious accommodation with a wealth of exposed beams, period features and a log fire. The garden encompasses a terraced area overlooking the beautiful Shropshire countryside, and glorious country walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep. A beautiful location for a romantic weekend away. Ideal for couples. The space Ground floor: Living room with French doors (lovely views), log fire (Clearview stove and initial fuel included), wooden floors. Entertainment: TV and DVD player (selection of DVDs), Bluetooth sound system and a collection of board games, WiFi throughout. Fully equipped kitchen with dining area. Kitchen has fridge, dishwasher and microwave. First floor: Galleried landing with 2 double bedrooms, both en-suite shower rooms with toilet. Hair dryers and an iron and ironing board are available. Fluffy white robes in the bedrooms. Outside you have use of the terraced area surrounded by roses to admire the view of Wenlock Edge. Guest access Fancy a short break walking and discovering the delights of South Shropshire in a wonderful rural location? As I write this the lambs are being born, the daffodils are poking through and there is an uninterrupted view of Wenlock Edge from the window. This is a magic place in all weathers- even if you are blown away walking on a mountain top you can come home and warm up with a cosy log fire and hot chocolate or a tipple of your choice. Just 6 miles away, the medieval black and white town of Much Wenlock offers a fine selection of shops, inns and restaurants and wonderful views over Wenlock Edge escarpment. This is the town that inspired today’s modern Olympics and visitors can explore a magnificent collection of Olympian artefacts in the local museum. Further afield, there are numerous places of interest including Ironbridge Gorge, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and now the picturesque setting for fascinating museums. Church Stretton is 9 miles away with superb walking over Cardingmill Valley and the highest point on Long Mynd along with Caer Carradock. This is a spectacular place in all weathers. The ancient town of Shrewsbury, almost completely surrounded by the River Severn, is known for its beautifully preserved timber-framed buildings and elegant Georgian architecture while historic Ludlow boasts a Michelin starred restaurant and some very fine food shops. Its castle is also impressive, as is nearby Stokesay Castle. Golf, pony trekking and quad biking are all available nearby. Shop 6 miles, pub serving food 4 miles. A collection of local "What to do" brochures are available to help you decide how you would like to spend your time in Shropshire. Other things to note If there are only two guests staying and both rooms are used there will be an additional charge of £30 to cover cleaning costs. This will be requested via Airbnb after the stay. There is no facility to charge electric cars unfortunately. Please bring a laptop or tablet and you can connect to the large TV with an HDMI cable if you want to watch any particular programmes. There is normal TV and Netflix but iPlayer etc will need to come via your laptop. Bookings for Christmas: The Cottage will be dressed for Christmas with a Christmas tree, mantelpiece and stair banister decorations. It will all be very cosy and Christmassy. Managed through Airbnb.
