Nature lodge in Balmacara

A contemporary bedroom, with stunning views, in the heart of the Highlands. Located close to Plockton, the Isle of Skye, Eilean Donan Castle and some of the most breathtaking scenery in Scotland. At Balmacara Mains, we have 8 rooms in total, all en suite. Please contact for availability. Room 8 is a luxury family suite, comprising a King room, and adjoining room (accessed via main room) which can be a King or Twin, plus a large bathroom ideal for a family. Sleeps 4. Access to room is via stairs. The space As well as your private bedroom we have a dining area which looks out over Loch Alsh and the Isle of Skye which makes for a very special breakfast experience. We use fresh, local ingredients and accommodate any dietary requirements - please do let us know in advance. Our garden is lovely to sit in and relax amongst the flower beds. We are a two minute walk from the shore where you can sometimes see otters and porpoises. The guesthouse is situated by a National Trust for Scotland woodland walk where red squirrel have been re introduced and pine martins can also be spotted. Our staff are mostly local, friendly and dedicated to helping you enjoy your stay as much as possible. Guest access Our staffed check in period runs from 3pm to 5pm, though in high season we often have staffing later. Easy self check in arrangements will be made for those arriving later than our staffed period. We do not serve lunch or dinner here at Balmacara Mains, and there are no cooking facilities for guests. We recommend making dinner reservations at local restaurants ahead of time in high season as the best places get booked up quickly. Dining recommendations are sent out to guests 2 weeks prior to arrival to aide with this. The chalet opposite the guest house is private accommodation and we ask our guests who are staying in the main building not to go down onto the decking for privacy reasons. Other things to note The building dates back from 1860, and we respectfully ask you to be mindful of other guests as sounds can carry. Laundry services are also available for a small fee, though this may not be possible during our busy high season period. There is a laundrette in Kyle of Lochalsh, just 5 minutes drive away. Free parking is available outside the main building.
