The space Located on a peaceful street in the historic bastide village of Montaigu de Quercy, the gentle pace of French village life is literally on your doorstep, and this includes a short walk to the local boulangerie (closed on Mondays) for the freshest and most delicious bread and croissants. The village also has a small selection of amenities including 3 restaurants and 2 bars all within walking distance; tennis courts and a water park with beach area, bars and other activities. All this is complemented by an active programme of events and an excellent and busy market every Saturday. Two sitting rooms, one with a television, can be a great feature for families. We love to explore the local village markets and other nearby bastide towns" Accommodation Entering Maison Grange through the street door, you are on the upper floor, and in the spacious open plan kitchen /living area with a high vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The kitchen is well equipped with well-stocked, fitted kitchen units including an induction hob and oven with extractor over, microwave oven, large fridge freezer and dishwasher. A large dining table sits up to 10 people comfortably. The sitting area has two large comfortable sofas, and a quiet reading 'corner' Entrances to the bedrooms on this level are off this room: A double bedroom, including an ensuite shower with basin and wc. A twin bedroom with views over the garden and pool. Opposite the twin bedroom is the bathroom, with basin and wc. A mezzanine area with sofa-bed overlooks the sitting area, making a pleasant separate quiet place if required. Stairs down from the sitting area lead to the ground floor, where the first room at the bottom of the stairs is a utility room with washing machine and ironing facilities. An archway leads into an open plan arrangement, with comfortable seating, television with French and English channels, DVD player and a large selection of DVDs. A few steps take you down to the lower floor kitchen, with fitted units equipped with electric hob and oven, microwave and wine cooler. This kitchen is conveniently situated by the outside door onto the pool terrace and garden, making this the ideal place to prepare alfresco meals. Next to the sitting area is the 2nd double bedroom and king size ensuite bedroom, with shower room, basin and wc. The ensuite has 'Jack and Jill' doors, so that is can be shared by those using the 2nd double bedroom. In total , there are 135m2 of internal accommodation. Outdoors The south-facing garden is secure with a private pool and raised terrace area, which enjoys some shade from nearby trees. The pool terrace also has a changing room with a cold-water shower and toilet. Measuring 8 x 4m, the unheated swimming pool is protected by an alarm, and there are roman steps for ease of access. Water purity is maintained by chlorine. The pool is open from end of April to end of September. The garden is partly grassed. A Charcoal barbecue is supplied for outdoor cooking. Guest access There is access to the entire house. There are 3 steep steps into the house and two staircases within the house. This may make the house less suitable for families with young children or less able individuals. Other things to note There is free on-street parking by the house, for one car. However, this is public property and may not always be available to use during your stay. There is free car parking in the village which is only two minutes walk away from the house
