The area is uneven with steps into the hut and steps down to the lower garden. Care must be taken when entering and leaving the hut and also in wet weather. Its easy to cater for yourself using the hut's kitchen. It has a kettle, toaster, two ring induction hob & a microwave Spray oil is provided as are salt & pepper. We have the superb Washingpool Farm shop just down the road where you can find all the supplies you need. Towels/bedding included, as are soap and shower gel. There is a digital radio if you just fancy curling up on the comfortable bed & listening to music. There is a USB charging point in the socket behind the chest by the bed. Mobile telephone signals can vary so you might find yourself with some true freedom from the demands of modern life. 4G can be picked up. Guest access You park in front of the shepherd’s hut area in front of the red painted milk churn and walk down a short path to the gated garden entrance. The shepherd’s hut is tucked away at the end of our garden overlooking the rolling Dorset countryside. Once there you are quite nestled away and will feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of life. It has a large private garden on two levels with a paved area in front of it with table and chairs for two. The gravel area is down a few steps into the field in front of the hut and has a picnic table . The is a large outside storage box where reclining sun loungers etc are kept, you can also use this store for bags,boots and things you don’t want to have in the hut. Many cyclists visit the area so if you bring your bike you will be able to join in! The hut has its own parking and you can fit two cars there one in front of the other. Please keep your dog on a lead going to & from your car as there is livestock around. . If you have a dog with you, please make sure they are washed off using the dog bath in the barn opposite our house, towels and shampoo are there for you ! Please do not have the dog on the bed & please bag any poop & pop into the lidded metal bin found inside the outside store Other things to note We have 6 Ouessant sheep here, 2 dogs ,a tiny ginger cat, a large black cat & chickens with a cockerel. The land around us is rented out for cattle & sheep farming with all its associated rural noises! We have a sleeps 4 barn conversion and a sleeps 2 converted granary here as well. All properties have lots of privacy from each other.Contact me if you want details on the other. You will hear tawny owls hooting goodnight to you & probably wake to the sound of pheasants squawking. We are lucky enough to have several species of bats living here that swoop around at dusk & in summer the swallows will keep you entertained with their aerial acrobatics. The bird song is a vibrant start to the day~your very own Tweet of The Day awaits you! & if you are here at the right time of year you may be lucky enough to hear the roe bucks deep throaty call as they seek a doe. Don't forget to look up! There is very little light pollution here & on a clear night you can almost touch the stars! Sat on the hut steps as dusk falls, one of the blankets from under the bed, around your shoulders,cradling a drink & just listening & watching is probably the thing our guests love most to do!
