Secluded Farmhouse with Private Lake

Gallt Yr Adar Fawr is a comfortable, spacious five bedroomed house, nestling in a beautiful valley flanked by trees and hills and overlooking its own lake. The farmhouse is a dedicated holiday home and is situated within our 200 acre farmland estate and offers its visitors a quiet, restful escape from hectic city life. Whether fishing in the lake or barbecuing on the terrace one can relax and observe the plentiful wildlife and fall into the embrace of this peaceful and tranquil location. The space Gallt Yr Adar Fawr sleeps eight. The spacious lounge and large farmhouse Kitchen are well equipped with all that you will need to make you feel at home. At night, the location is near silent except for the odd owl hooting or the wind rustling in the trees, and the sky is properly dark except for the moon and stars - a perfect recipe for the townie needing a good nights sleep. In the Kitchen, you’ll find all the equipment you'll need for preparing anything from basic grub to an epicurean feast, supported by onlookers gathering at the large pine table with glasses in hand. We provide tea towels, dish cloths and cleaning products. Beyond the Kitchen is a Laundry Room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron with ironing board and a second fridge/freezer. Adjacent to the Laundry Room is a w.c. with a hand basin, and a back door leading to the rear of the house. The spacious Lounge has three leather sofas, the perfect place to relax around a log fire on those chilly winter evenings. Upstairs, the two large Double Bedrooms have kingsize beds, plenty of storage and hanging space, dressing tables and bedside tables with lamps. The Twin Bedroom has two 3' beds, a wardrobe, wicker chair, drawer space and bedside tables with lamps. The cosy Single Bedroom has a 3' bed, tallboy style wardrobe, dressing table with drawer space and bedside cabinet with a lamp. There is a large blue themed Bathroom with a bath, basin, WC, separate corner shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Adjacent to this is a second bathroom with a shower cubicle, basin and WC. The second Single Bedroom located on the ground floor has a 3' bed, wicker wardrobe, dressing table and bedside cabinet with a lamp. This is a light and airy room having a double aspect with views of the lake and the pony paddock. Enjoy a game of snooker on the quarter size, slate bed table in the Snooker Room while the kids amuse themselves with a choice of board and card games. Relax and enjoy the views from the garden furniture on the covered terrace, whilst supper is cooking on the barbecue. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish for the hobby fisherman and there is also a family of Canada Geese who return every year to breed through the spring and early summer. It's always lovely to see the geese and goslings but the downside is the droppings! We do our best to keep the garden area clear during this time. We are Martin and Karen and we welcome our guests with a complimentary tray of tea, coffee, soft drinks and Welsh cakes. Our home is next door, so to speak, several hundred metres along a farm track and we host the cottage with the help of our co-host, Alex. Other things to note Gallt Yr Adar Fawr is situated in a very rural area so a car is essential. Mobile phone reception here can be quite patchy so having Wi-Fi calling set up on your mobile while at the farmhouse may be useful. There is a land-line phone and we provide an honesty box should you need to use it to make calls.
