The apartment includes: Living & Lounge Space: A spacious living room with character-beamed ceilings, a study area, and a comfy sofa (which converts into a sofa bed for one adult or two children). Bedroom: The romantic bedroom is housed in the 12th-century tower, featuring a double cast iron bed, an antique chandelier, and stunning views over the garden and hills. Cooking & Dining Space: A rustic Tuscan kitchen with modern conveniences and a dining table for up to four, with views of the summer room and treetops. Summer Room: Known as the loggia, this relaxing space has day beds, perfect for lounging or napping with views over the garden and hills. Bathroom: Traditional terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and a shower cubicle, washbasin, WC, and bidet. Garden: A unique feature in a historic centre. Exclusive to guests, our peaceful garden is ideal for unwinding, note that the garden is accessed by the rear gate of the property approximately 200 metres from your entrance. Guest access ACCESS Access to the Tower house apartment situated on the 2nd floor (3rd level US) is via 34 stone steps. There is a Bannister/handrail on each side. (No valet service) The apartment is accessed first by a door at street level which is shared with the owners and then a private door situated on the 2nd floor We do not recommend the apartment for those who have difficulty negotiating the stairs or can carry their own bags up the steps Other things to note EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES IN VICOPISANO/DRIVING RESTRICTIONS ANTIQUE AND COLLECTORS MARKET Every 2nd Sunday of the month except August Access to the village on this day is limited and so is parking. LOCATION CONSIDERATIONS ZTL - Limited Traffic Zone Traffic is not permitted along Via Lante the main road in the historic centre between the following hours: 12:30 to 14:30 and then again from 19:00 to midnight AIR CONDITIONING Air conditioning units are restricted in the historic centre, so our condenser is discreetly housed in the loggia/summer room. This means the loggia and kitchen may become warm when the AC is running, but the living room and bedroom will stay cool. Italian law requires AC to be set no lower than 24°C. Please do not adjust the temperature, as an override system may turn off the AC if set lower. Guests are requested to switch off the AC when they leave the apartment during the day and evenings. LIGHTS Please switch off the lights when leaving the apartment. ACCESS & LUGGAGE The apartment is accessed by 34 steps. Please note that we do not provide a service where we carry luggage up to the apartment GARDEN ACCESS Gardens are a premium in historic centres and Casa Colomba does have a garden - Access is a short walk around the block to the rear of the property, MONDAY RESTAURANT OPENINGS: Monday is a day of closing for many bars and restaurants around Italy. There is one restaurant open on Monday for dinner in the historic centre and one restaurant a 10 - 15 minute walk away (5-minute drive) at the edge of the village. HIKING; TREKKING AND MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS Vicopisano is located at the foot of the Monte Pisana a small range of hills. Here you will find plenty of walking, hiking and MBT trails.
