We live in this beautiful house from 1892, built by the first mayor of West Bethlehem and overlooking the Lehigh Valley, and we love welcoming guests! We are centrally located in a quiet part of downtown Bethlehem, a 10-minute walk to the restaurants and shops of historic Bethlehem and within easy reach of the major destinations in the area. During the past few years we have worked hard to renovate the house, incl. the guest room and the guest bathroom. You will love to see the original detail! There is beautiful woodwork throughout the house and we are currently in the process of bringing out the original beauty of the house. You will stay in a comfortable bedroom on the second floor with access to your own newly refurbished bathroom with walk-in shower. You will have access to your own, recently renovated bathroom with walk-in shower. You can enjoy our porch overlooking South Mountain (including the Star of Bethlehem). We only rent out one guest room; there will be no other Airbnb guests at the house. We enjoy hearing from our guests where they are from and what brings them here. We are happy to give you advice on the area! We also very much respect the privacy of our guests. In the morning you will find a tray with coffee and/or tea at your door. We are both vaccinated (incl. booster shots). Our family-friendly neighborhood offers a nice mixture of small and large homes. The views of the Lehigh Valley are spectacular. When the leaves are gone you can see the historic Moravian buildings from our home. Lehigh University, SteelStacks, and the local festivals (Musikfest!) are very close. Although Bethlehem Steel is no longer producing steel, some of the trains are still running. You can sometimes hear them in the downtown area when it's quiet. There are excellent restaurants on both sides of the Lehigh River. We are located 10 minutes from the local airport (ABE) and we are within walking distance from the downtown Transbridge station (connection to New York City). We are both fully vaccinated. Our tap water is filtered. The house has central air; in addition, there is a ceiling fan in the guest room. Bethlehem has been nominated by the US to Unesco's World Heritage List - it is certainly worth visiting!
