It is a luxury, self-catering, modern, sunny and bright two bedroomed, two bathroomed apartment which is private and has an uninterrupted panoramic view over the Knysna estuary. Kindly note that the price quoted is for two people. An additional guest will incur a charge of R350 per night This is a peaceful and secluded oasis and situated in a safe, quiet area of The Heads. There is a private entrance and parking for up to 2 cars for guests. Two large, bright bedrooms, one with bathroom en-suite, each with king sized , extra length beds, (which can be separated on request) a desk or dressing table, two large bathrooms (large walk in showers, basins, toilets and bath). Each bedroom opens up onto a beautiful wooden balcony with seating and stunning views. There is air conditioning in each bedroom, ceiling fans and heaters to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. All beds have electric blankets for your comfort. Sundowners on the private balcony is a must while enjoying the sunset and twinkling night lights of Knysna, or take a stroll through the indigenous garden to the private mountain gazebo and listen to the singing frogs and gently gurgling waterfall of the lily pond. There is abundant bird life in this gorgeous garden, a photographers dream, or listen to the distant call of the Fish Eagles. There is also a Weber Barbecue for your use should you wish to cook outside in the sun or under the stars. The apartment also consists of a comfortably furnished open plan lounge and eating area, and a fully equipped modern kitchen, with stove, oven, microwave, large fridge and washing machine. There is no dining table due to space constraints but there is a server which can be moved for this purpose. We have all DSTV satellite channels, Netflix, Amazon Prime, flat screen TV, and free wi-fi. Lock-up wall safes are provided in each bedroom should you wish to lock away your valuables. The apartment is serviced daily by Lucky, our housekeeping assistant, so guests need not worry about having to make beds, washing dishes or doing any household chores. This is meant to give guests more time to relax and enjoy the sights and activities of our beautiful town. However if guests prefer not to have this service, they are welcome to let us know when they check-in. A laundry service is available as an optional extra and can be arranged for an additional fee. Visitors have full access to a swimming pool, sunning deck and several beautiful, peaceful and quiet patios where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book or drink a glass of wine, while admiring the stunning views. Swimming towels are provided. Beach umbrellas are available, if required. The property is located within walking distance of the popular Knysna Heads viewpoint (500m), East Head Cafe (700m) and Coney Glen beach (700m). You will need a car though to visit the town centre (approximately 6km away) and the other attractions and amenities of Knysna. Guest access There are three easy flights of stairs up to the apartment, and therefore it would not be suitable for small children, the physically disabled or the infirm. Our guests have their own access to the apartment directly up from the parking area on the property. There is also on-street parking further up on Oupad Road. No pets allowed No smoking No events No small children Other things to note We have uninterrupted power which is not affected by loadshedding as we have a battery backup system. The apartment is situated on the top floor of our home, and access is via three staircases from the street level, and is self contained and completely private from the main house. We live full time downstairs on the lower levels. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and is suitable for guests looking for peace and tranquility. We have 4 very friendly dogs and a cat on the premises. The dogs may visit you sometimes, especially on arrival. :). This also means that we cannot allow guests to bring their own pets. We charge a nominal once-off cleaning fee (included in the Airbnb charges) to cover daily servicing of the apartment on weekdays and laundering of used linen and towels after your stay. Our driveway is compact and fairly narrow. It may require some manoevering to enter and exit, especially with a larger vehicle. It is not suitable for vehicles towing a trailer as there is not enough space available.
