South Durras Beach Cottage

Our Cottage is only a 2 minute walk to the beach and is the perfect place for your family or a handful of friends (maximum 6 people) who would like a break in a quiet, relaxed, comfortable cottage, 50 metres from the beach. The Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, air conditioning, Wifi, home comforts and is light with timber floors throughout. It is very clean and comfortable. Note: we supply all linen (including bath & T-towels). However please bring beach towels. The space Enjoy the cosy north facing verandah where you can quietly sip a morning coffee, or listen to the song of native birds. The large back deck has a gas BBQ (Weber), umbrella and table & chairs for entertaining. The deck has views across the ocean and the beautiful tall gums. It has steps down to the rear garden – to lemon & lime trees, lawn for backyard cricket, a double garage for storing the beach gear and a laundry (washer and dryer) and ‘outdoor’ shower. The Cottage block is fully fenced, so children can run freely. South Durras and the Cottage offer plenty of opportunities for swimming, ‘beaching’, fishing, canoeing, bike riding – there are great mountain bike trails around, bush walking, or just ‘hanging out’ and resting. There is wildlife everywhere – kangaroos, possums, beautiful birds etc. Please do not try & pat or feed the kangaroos - while they might hop around the garden & streets they are wild animals. Guest access The Cottage includes: - new large comfy sofa - to fit a number or stretch out on your own - day bed to also recline, day bed and other spaces to rest - an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space with reverse cycle air conditioning systems (cooling and heating) - reverse cycle air (cooling & heating) in 2 bedrooms - fully equipped ‘cooks’ kitchen including new dishwasher. - child’s portable cot and portable gate to block off an area/room. The Cottage sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms: - 2 x bedrooms each with queen beds and 1 x bedroom with two single beds. Other facilities: - a newly renovated separate laundry (washing machine & dryer) - large outdoor deck with BBQ and outdoor dining - single garage connected to the house - WiFi & digital TV. Mobile coverage is very good. - Fully fenced garden (front and back). Amenities The cooks kitchen is very well equipped – with all essential items. Drinking water is filtered at kitchen sink. Dishwasher (new) & microwave. There are plenty of plates, cutlery, utensils, glasses, pots and pans, baking dishes - for full catering and cutlery, plates for babies/small children etc. Coffee making (stove top, plunger & instant) / tea (real tea leaves, tea pot & tea bags including herbal tea). The pantry is quite well stocked with essentials & some extra food items. Note: Linen is complimentary. All beds have doonas & covers and extra blankets. Please bring beach towels & your beach equipment. Other things to note Minimum booking periods: - 2 night minimum stay except for the following periods: - long weekends and school holidays - 3 night minimum - Christmas/January - 6 night minimum stay - Easter - 4 night minimum stay over Easter days or if booking starts or finishes on any of the 'Easter' days (ie 'Maundy' Thursday to Easter Monday inclusive) The pricing is based on 6 people staying with access to the whole Cottage. Please - no vaping or smoking Not suitable for pets Check in after 2pm Check out after 10am late / later on request Please – no loud parties or excessive noise – this is a quiet area Before you leave, please leave the Cottage in a tidy condition, empty rubbish and compost and please clean the BBQ. Water Usage and Sewerage: South Durras is a quiet village surrounded by Murramarang National Park. South Durras is not connected to ‘town’ water and sewerage. All water used (including drinking water) comes from rainwater tanks (please use the water carefully – short showers please) and there is a septic system (which is pumped out regularly – and we arrange that). Please wash the sand off your feet before entering the house & showering. There is an outside tap outside the laundry. This helps keep the house clean, the wooden floors polished and the sand out of the drains. We would appreciate you being respectful of our now quite old family Cottage and garden - Thankyou.
