“Sa Domu de sa Contissa” is a multipurpose cultural center. Special attention is paid to the spread and enhancement of Sardinian culture. For this reason, a cultural tourism is privileged that puts visitors able to know how to appreciate the various aspects of Sardinian culture. Of particular value are the naturalistic, archaeological, historical, food and wine aspects. For more information visit the site: sadomudesacontissa The space The building type is that of a "courtyard house" as all the buildings that make it up face a vast internal courtyard. This type, which is one of the characteristic types of traditional Sardinian dwellings, in this case takes on a particularly imposing appearance as it is applied to a house called "manor house". The supporting structure of all the buildings is made of stone, a limestone marl typical of this area. The housing complex has been completely restored according to the criteria of green building, taking care of the preservation of traditional features such as the wood of the ceilings and floors, the stone, which constitutes the supporting structure of the buildings and has been left visible both inside and out, the inserts made with traditional bricks and the hand-painted ceramics that give the rooms a warm and welcoming look. From the main portal you can access a large garden overlooking the main core of the house, which in its central body still serves as the home of the current owner. On the left of the driveway, a building once used as a warehouse with recent renovation has become a multipurpose room that can be a living room and library but can become a meeting room or host theatrical or musical performances, seminars or physical activities such as yoga, pilates or still be a meditation room. Passing this structure you access the side courtyard overlooked by all the other buildings that are now dedicated to the reception and development of cultural activities. On the left the rustic kitchen that also serves as a cellar and pantry and in front of it the large porch that was once the "flock of oxen" and now houses the traditional oven and a large barbecue and is the place where in good season outdoor events, festivals and lunches take place. Continuing in the side courtyard on the left beyond the hill is the synergic garden that took the place of the large barn unfortunately collapsed, while on the right the building that was once the home of "su sozzu" the one who directed the agricultural work on behalf of the noble owners, has now been partially renovated and there are rooms dedicated to the reception. Guest access Guests will have a spacious room, with an entrance independent from the garden, whose walls are a pleasant purple perirical purple color. The room is attached to a bathroom with the contrast between the yellow of the ceramic cladding and the purple of the lime stucco walls. Outside the room, and with its exclusive relevance, a wicker lounge for outdoor relaxation. The room is accessible for the disabled Breakfast will be served in the kitchen of the residence that is located in the main building of the complex. Registration Details IT111074C1000F3763
