The smoke alarm is hard-wired for your peace of mind. The separate bedroom has a door to the lounge room for privacy with more than one or two guests although it needs to be open if air conditioning is needed in both areas. The kitchen has an extractor fan and a door to keep the cooking aroma out of the lounge room. We share our home with a 10 year old rescued 'Moodle' (Maltese x Poodle) named Tyler who has access to the backyard but is not allowed in the flat. Yes, he does bark at nearby dogs but we try to keep him inside at night although he can come and go through his doggie door. The quiet neighbourhood is peaceful day and most nights except for occasional Friday night music. Restful, secluded, shady garden with outdoor tables, chairs and shade umbrella for guest's exclusive use. Our front verandah off the front courtyard is a relaxing spot during windy, hot or rainy days or evenings. Relax after traveling, a day out or before heading out cycling, swimming or walking at local sandy beaches, site seeing or shopping. Take a break with a quiet meal, meditate, check your email, catch up on the news, watch a movie, listen to music CDs or read a book. Yes, there are a few DVDs and books. Plan your next move in a relaxing calm environment. Guest access When trees are in fruit, you are welcome to help yourselves this includes oranges, limes, kumquats, mulberries, figs, grapes, plums, quinces and cape gooseberries in season. Herbs may also be available. Two bicycles are available for guests' use with a helmet, pump and local cycling rules. An automatic washing machine in the house laundry is available to guests if we are home unless we are also washing or asleep. The iconic "Hills hoist" rotary clothesline is in the backyard and undercover lines are outside the laundry and in the garage. A key per adult is provided for the flat. For evening arrivals after 9:00 pm, we have a key lock on the front verandah. Just let us know if your ETA is late and we will send the code just before you arrive. Other things to note Please note the sofa bed is only suitable for children or small adults up to 60 kg. If you have trouble remembering where things were when you arrived in a new place, please use your phone to take photographs before shifting anything so you can leave everything as you found it. We expect guests staying more than a week to vacuum, mop, clean surfaces and sanitise touch points to avoid charges for extra deep cleaning when they leave. Guests are asked to please wash up and bin or recycle their rubbish daily. Washing up, putting away dishes, moving things back to where they belong and binning rubbish are not part of our cleaner's duties. This way we can keep the cleaning fee low. We ask guests to please strip the bed(s) then place all used bed linen, towels, bath mats, floor mats, tea towels, and dishcloths in the palm bag from the walk-in robe and place it on the veranda before leaving or weekly. Guests are also asked to open all windows and vertical blinds before your leave. Our special interests: Ian is a retired accountant with Masonic connections and Marg. is a retired teacher engaged in genealogical research, with a diploma from Tasmania University in Family History and a unit from a Canadian University on Scottish Documents. We enjoy welcoming guests from all countries and can provide maps, bikes plus ideas about places to visit and experiences to enjoy. Registration Details STRA6024S0KW1LE4
