The Old Church House - up to 8 people
Description
Welcome to the quiet end of the Hunter Valley! You can follow us on Instagram @theoldchurchhouse_ Only 2.5hrs from sydney, yet surrounded in tranquillity. This beautiful old Church House was originally built in 1880, turned into a house in 1980 & has been given a recent facelift. It’s still a work in progress but makes for a lovely rustic country stay. Krinklewood winery is 10min up the road, Margan wines and fine dining only 15min away... and 30min to the broader Hunter Valley (Pokolbin). The space Please note this is a rustic country escape… it gets super dark at night, when it rains it gets really muddy and possibly slippery, there are bugs and very rarely there may be an issue with the septic!! Please have a flexible attitude towards staying in the country!! Set over several acres The Old Church House which has a main bedroom with queen bed and en-suite and a loft bedroom with double bed. Also included in you booking is The Cottage which is set only a few meters behind the Church. It is a cute one bedroom flat with its own bathroom, breakfast bar, main bedroom with double bed, lounge room with single day bed with trundle. Guest access There is only parking for four cars two in the carport and two on the right hand side of the carport.. please do not park anywhere on the grass verges as it causes Mud and damage to the grass and the private road… do not block the road as there are two other properties further down who require access. There are steps and outdoor garden paths that can be slippery when wet.. if you have mobility issues please consider this and make enquiries before booking. Guests get full access of the property both church and cottage to themselves. But please note we do own the small seperate property across the road also and sometimes weekend there with our kids so this is not the place for loud parties. Other things to note Rubbish- there is no rubbish collection so you will be required to take ALL rubbish with you when you check out. Loft bedroom- is accessible only by a steep ladder style of steps which can de difficult for those mobility challenged or a worry for little children. Can be viewed in the photos. Pets - Must be kept off the furniture and no muddy feet on the carpet too please. The farm fences won’t keep them in so please keep them close as Neigbour’s get very concerned about strange dogs wandering into their properties. Lastly all dog poo needs to be removed from the main lawn area as the cleaners won’t do it and it’s not nice for future guests. Dam - There is a Dam on the property, it is fenced from the buildings with barbed wire and chicken wire but small children should be supervised. Fires- If you want to make use of the indoor and outdoor fires please bring fire wood.. there is wood on the property that can be foraged however if it has been raining timber could be damp. Pets - must be requested so we know when they are there and pet owners must take full responsibility for any damage caused. Water - the property is all tank water so bring some drinking water, the tank water won’t make you sick but I think it tastes like tank water.. and please be water wise especially if it’s been very dry lately Septic tank - do not flush anything down the toilets except toilet paper, even that as sparingly as possible please.. bins are provided in the bathrooms for any other items that need disposal. Pump in main bathroom - please do not touch this or turn it off, it makes a noise anytime water in the church is used or the toilet is flushed. Reception/wifi- there is no phone reception at the property, wifi is available from the cottage and usually reliable, occasional service outages do happen however Tv- there is no tv reception however a selection of DVD’s are at the property for guest use. Furniture - if you move something please put it back where it was before you leave.. very hard for my cleaner to move a table or a bed etc all by herself. Oven - the oven requires the timer to be in use to work.. instructions are in the draw next to the sink Registration details PID-STRA-5973
