Birch Bothy, peaceful rural retreat

A peaceful rural retreat, offering self-contained studio accomodation for 2 people. Traditional stone building, fully renovated in 2018, offering light, airy, well-insulated accomodation with central heating and traditional woodstove. Situated in a tiny hamlet surrounded by open countryside, 5 miles south of the market town of Hexham. Ideal for walkers or those seeking peace and quiet, yet within a short drive of local shops and restaurants. Breakfast ingredients for first morning included. The space The accomodation has a very comfortable standard double bed with brand new mattress. There is ample space for clothes storage, with a full-height single wardrobe and chest of drawers. There are two comfy chairs by the woodstove, as well as a dining table and chairs in the small kitchen area, which includes a 2-ring electric hob, microwave, fridge, sink and cupboards with a good range of cooking pots and utensils, crookery and cutlery etc . The fridge and cupboards are stocked with fresh ingredients for your first morning's breakfast: a selection of teas, coffee, fresh berries, yoghurt, cereals, milk, bread, local free-range eggs and home-made jam (Gluten and dairy free alternatives can be provided with advance notice). There is wi-fi available and a TV set up for dvd use and netflix only, as well as an FM/DAB radio with CD player and bluetooth. Our modern bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower, basin and toilet. Outside, guests are able to enjoy a large patio area with table and chairs and a stunning open view, including a large natural pond with a wide variety of birdlife. We reserve the lower garden, which is brimful of flowers in the summer, for use by our guests. The bothy is a smoke-free and pet-free space. We use ecological cleaning and laundry products and offer a choice of feather and synthetic bedding, so this is a low-allergy environment.
